The matches themselves weren't anything to write about. But the results were. Haru and Viser had been completely demolishing the challenged clans of the remaining 72 pillars. Everyone underestimated Viser to begin with but after she beat a clan with pure physical strength. Without even becoming a rook through promotion. Everyone began to fear their defeats. Some tried to bargain ways out of the match. But their defeats were set in stone. Losing tragically as they lost their business, their land, their titles, everything they had. It may have been wrong but there was an honest thrill in taking over territories for Haru. More money, more land, more power. His territory was developing again. His popularity among the low ranking devils increasing even more as he opened up more rating game schools to them. Low ranking devil actually loved Haru. He didn't see rank nor did he discriminate against it. He was loved by the people but not much by the higher ranked demons.
Haru: I believe that's all the matched done. Maybe we should do some more.
Haru was sitting in his office on his chair behind his desk, when suddenly the door was burst open as Grayfia was standing there.
Grayfia: No you will not! I can't believe you were actually serious about world domination!
Haru: I'm not really serious about it. It's more like fun to pass the time. I'm more serious about my garden. Oh! Have you seen the new flowers I've planted! A crimson flower that only grows in the Underworld. I think it contrasts very nicely with the blue instead of roses. {Though I'm think about finding a different blue flower.}
Haru was most definitely more interested in gardening. Even after thousands of years he still loved it. Peaceful.
Grayfia: Yes. I actually loved those ones. Their Sirzechs fav... WAIT NO! DON'T CHANGE TOPIC! *Sigh* You need a better political image with the higher devils.
Haru: No.
Grayfia: Ok I'll... wait... no?
Haru: Exactly. No.
Grayfia looked at Haru. This would be one of the very few times Haru didn't take her advice. One of the few times he said a hard no. Instead of "maybe" or "I'll think about it." It was a straight and direct no. It actually really shocked her. And for some reason. Hurt her.
Grayfia: W-Why?
Haru: {Wait. Is she... sad?!} Grayfia I'm so sorry! No, I'll take your advice! I-I was joking! Yes! It was a joke!
Grayfia looked at Haru. Just making her sad wasn't something he wanted to do. He promised to make her happy and he didn't forget that. So if that meant changing something he wanted to do he would do it in a heartbeat.
Haru: Please don't be sad. I-I didn't know that would hurt you.
Grayfia gave a small smile as she looked at Haru. That pain was instantly gone. He was genuinely sad that he accidentally hurt her. But Grayfia knew this wasn't her territory. Taking a deep breath and adopting her serious maid demeanour.
Grayfia: Would you tell me why you don't want to?
Haru: Your... Your not angry?
Grayfia: I won't ever get actually angry at you my lord~.
Haru saw a small smile on her face as he gave a small smile back. As he sat back in his seat.
Haru: I don't plan on making nice with people that discriminate against those of lower rank. Those that do want to have amicable relationships with me will respect what I'm doing. Our territory has one if not the happiest populations and by taking more in we can make the underworld a better place. Removing the ones that are holding it back with the old ways of thinking. Only doing things to better themselves. A lord should do things to better their people.
Grayfia: That's more than acceptable. Now tell me your real reason.
Grayfia looked at him. Haru was smart, tactical. But he wasn't complex. He was actually quite basic in his thinking. Grayfia knew such a reason as that wouldn't be why he was actually doing this, but a clever cover he had come up with for this case.
Haru: *Sigh* I just really wanted to continue developing my territory.
Grayfia looked at him. She knew he didn't like developing. But she also knew that was a clever lie meant for her and anyone close to him if they got this far.
Haru: I wanted to watch Viser fight and fight a bit myself. {I knew you all too well! This is also a clever lie! A basic stupid lie to cover up an even more stupid reason! I just wanted to make sure you would never find out! I just didn't like those guys!}
Grayfia: Ok. There's no need to hide it from me. I'm your wife Haru. But if you wanted to fight you should have went with Rias and that Valkyrie. But when you get questioned and make a public statement. Stick with the first one.
Haru: Ok. {Would she accept my real reason? Hmmmmm. I shouldn't tell she just in case.}
Grayfia: However the end of summer is near so you'll have to work extra hard so that you can leave for your teaching role.
Haru: Ah yay. More work.
Haru said really sarcastically. Grayfia gave a small giggle.
Grayfia: You made that problem yourself. On top of that you all... you'll... you...
Grayfia was making faces as if she was about to be sick. But trying her best to hold it down.
Haru: Grayfia?
Grayfia then rushed out the room. Running down the halls. Was she going to be sick?
Haru: {Devils don't get sick though. There's one cold but she doesn't have a cold. I could see that much. Even if they eat bad food sickness is extremely rare. The... the only time when a devil gets sick... Oh. my. God.} MY WIFES BEING SICK! YES! WAHOOO!
Haru jumped out of his chair throwing his hands up in celebration. The doors opened again as Viser walked in.
Viser: My lord is Grayfia ok? I just saw her run down the hall.
Haru: GRAYFIAS BEING SICK!
Haru said with a large smile on his face. Grayfia immediately knew what it meant. A common reason known to all devils when one was sick.
Viser: Oh congratulations!
Haru: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! MY WIFES SICK!
It is extremely rare for a devil to be sick. She wasn't ill, she didn't eat poisonous foods. There was only one reason a devil would be sick.
Only one reason a female devil would be sick.
Grayfia was suffering from morning sickness.
Grayfia is pregnant.
