The Split Sun and The Mechanical Moon

Chapter Nine: The 22nd District.

"What do you want with me?"

I had Hawkins practically tied to my couch, bandages underneath his suit as he stretched a bit. Fred was overlooking, standing completely still as the girl climbed him. 

"I want you to tell me what you know, about everything."

Nico sat in a chair to my left, her legs crossed.

"Well, that's the thing Dove. I really don't know much."

I rose an eyebrow.

"I never really knew my mom...I don't know where the rest of my family is, the only one I can recognize is Nico in front of me. The earth above us can fuck off, the only thing I care about is the people I've met down here. Blade, Jimmy, Sam, all of them. The only one thing I've really learned, is that you can never get what you want. That guy 20 years ago, my dad, he didn't realize that. He tried to go above the clouds, but all he could do was free Ki's people in middle earth. I've never seen the sun, they blocked out the sky well over 30 years ago. I'm only 28, my parents met each other roughly 40 years ago."

I nodded, Hawkins wasn't very useful for information... but he's a strong man. 

"Dove. I have an idea."

I looked to Fred, silently letting him to know it's okay to speak.

"I've just gotten information that the leader of the 22nd District is actually Leo's ex girlfriend. I would recommend getting information about Leo and his intentions through her, that is all."

He went back to being still, I like that idea.

"The 22nd? Yeah, their leader doesn't like me."

"You mean Mitsoro?"

I turned to Hawkins and Nico

"What's she like?"

"Beautiful, angelic, and a stone cold killer. You want a story? 2 years ago, she took on the entirety of the 26th alone after Leo and her breakup. Killed hundreds with a single pistol and a sword, I heard Leo's district is rather empty because of her. She's crazy, but she's so damn pretty. Kinda like you Dovey."

I snapped my neck to Hawkins, confused he smirked at me. I shook my head, now gathering my things. Nico walked over to me, she put her hand on my shoulder.

"You shouldn't go alone."

I thought, and she was right. I had gone to every district now by myself, and came back twice nearly dead. With Vick out to kill me, I should probably take someone with me. Fred turned his head to me, giving me some insight.

"I do not recommend taking neither Nico or Me, we aren't in good relations with the 22nd. You can take Hawkins."

Hawkins jumped off the couch, popping his knuckles.

"Alright I'll go, what's the plan Dove?"

I smiled, happy to see Hawkins again... whether he looks the same or not. 

"Get in, ask around, get out. It's that easy, don't get anyone mad."

"Mkay."

I lost my revolver, meaning the shotgun I got from my old hotel room is my only firearm. I pulled it out, now gleaming at the fine details. It was a double barrel, however unlike most double barrel shotguns the barrels on this one were vertical rather than horizontal. It was made of wood and metal, gold accents with iron sights so worn down they were useless. In my pockets were 10 rounds, with 2 already in the gun that makes 12 shots. I opened up the gun, making sure it was loaded I put the safety on and let it fall to my side to a portal. I had gotten used to using magic around these people, but their wide faces when I do any kind of spell makes me believe magic shouldn't exist in this world. Nico spoke as I started to walk out the door with Hawkins.
