I was home alone, Vee had gone off to practice with his new weapon, Leah went to get her car from the shop, Mitsoro was at the EPD being chosen as a new pilot for their helicopters, and I was left to do nothing really. I sat and moped, missing Dan, missing Hawkins... I still don't know where he's at. I took the moment to reflect the lives we've lost for me to be standing here, looking out at Erun as it continues to grow. I looked up at the moon, the buzzing crack on it reminding us of our fake sky and the lies we persevered through. I smiled, I bet she's up there right now fighting for us... maybe she's talking about me to whoever she met up there. Although, I noticed something strange. I opened the doors to the balcony and walked out, gazing up into the sky above stadium Lunar. There was a mass emerging from the clouds, shaped like the hull of a ship. Multiple airships that dangled from giant balloons now descended into the sky, stationary over the stadium. I heard a helicopter fast approaching, as it flew over my building it dipped down and swung its side to face me, Lilserm opened up the side door and leaned out the side.
"I'm gonna need your help."
She outstretched her hand, with a grin I took it and boarded the chopper. We shut the doors and now soared to the stadiums center.
"Log 4, the weapon is lightweight and works perfectly... I'm concluding the tests here."
I was far in the outskirts of Erun testing my new weapon, seeing what it could truly do. Being able to fuel the blade with blood bags I uhm... lended from a hospital that had an excess in, I'm able to negate my curse and freely fight. Besides, this thing kicks ass.
Begging my walk back to the main roads, I spotted a strange anomaly entering our airspace. Airships? Definitely not on our side, I was quick to haul my weapon over my shoulder and ran as fast as I could, I called Leah too.
"Leah? Leah! Get your shield! The Night Raid has begun!"
"Pour me anotha' why don' cha'?"
"Kennedy, you've had plenty to drink tonight.
"Ah cmon Arthur, ya' can't blame a man who's jus' tryna get a few lad' drinks in before a war... you can relay righ'?"
"No Kennedy, I can't relate."
"Wha'Eva, how's the new place treatin' ya'?"
"Well time doesn't move twice as fast, so it's better by default. Shouldn't you be at Stadium Lunar anticipating this giant raid to start?"
"Yup, but I've got a bi' of down time, sho' be glad I'm here with ya'."
"Yeah yeah, okay... thanks, nobody really comes in here."
"That's the spirit!"
After a bit, a broadcas' came over tha' screens. Airships descedin' into Erun, there goes ma' break."
"Thas' my call Arthur, how's ma' tab lookin'?"
"Paid in full."
"Good, I don't wanna die in debt."
"I will see you soon right?"
I walked out the door, pausing' in the frame. I turned ma' head toward Arthur, grinnin'.
"Yeah."
We were standing on one end of the stadium, almost the entirety of Erin's population who were willing to fight. We had dug trenches, many standing in them just behind us. I was standing next to Lilserm, and next to her stood a big guy dressed in black. I didn't know his name, or his position. I didn't know where Leah or Vee were, but I saw Kennedy arrive and now stood in the trenches talking with EPD officers and calming some bystanders. After a bit, a large ship landed across the field and blowing grass as it landed. Lilserm spoke.
