Epilogue: Era Peristerá

My name is Brandon Smith, the date is January second, and everything has changed. It seems that Dan really did change the past, I spent a good chunk of my day yesterday finding out what had happened to everyone. Akira never existed, meaning William was never taken control of, meaning that the magic leylines never ruptured, meaning there was no reason to evacuate Erun. I haven't been able to find William, but I believe he's somewhere beyond the walls. Promise remains a rockstar, but it's evident her corrupt nature has changed for the better. I haven't met her of course, but from any video I can find of her I believe I'm right. I've heard talk of a Hawkins in the outskirts of town, but I don't know if it's the same one I know. I've heard nothing about Vee, only quiet rumors of a "Valentine" who holds a position on the Erun Directory Board Association. It's a group of seven people who act as a court, they decide what happens in the city. I don't know who's in charge, how they were appointed, but I know they're holding a meeting in the Erun Court today. I'm actually on my way now, but on my way I can't help but think about what Dan told me about her world. I had come to realize this morning that our worlds have had almost the same thing happen to them. At the very end, a force capable of destroying everything created something new. For Dan, the three cubes caused her world to collapse, and for us I strongly believe that Akira was going to destroy our universe, but thanks to Dan we saved from the same fate Dan faced.

I still think about her, I think about how she might be here somewhere. If Akira never existed, then shouldn't she have never died? I realize though, she died in the bubble... if she was to be anywhere then she would be there. I have lost the technology capable of that, but I'm hoping that we can return to our magical roots and reopen schools dedicated to that.

When I arrived at Eruns courthouse, a grand marble statue of The Dove was placed in between a grand staircase at the front of the building. She was fully armored, a torch in her hand as she pointed it to the sky. Looks like this was built a while ago, which make me think we have past we can't remember. I entered the court house, and now made my way to the left where they had their grand theater. On the stage resided 7 seats, 3 on each side with one larger on in the center. They were designated with insignias on each booth, and I could see a red curtain behind each booth. There were hundreds of seats, each 5 feet shorter than the stage. I spotted Kennedy, the last person I expected to see here, and sat with him.

"Hey there partner, ready for th' show?"

"It's an important meeting, not a show."

"Wha'ever"

After a bit, the lights above us dimmed as an announcer began to speak.

"Citizens of Erun, we thank you for joining us for this important meeting. I'd like to welcome to the stage the representatives of the Erun Directory Board Association. Starting with the Chief of Police, Lilserm Dinaro."

Walking out from behind a curtain, she took the seat on the very left. Her eyes remained closed, and I could see no scar from her wound on the battlefield... but that battle never happened.

"Next I'd like to welcome the CEO of Sikon Banking, Jaxton Fether."

A man dressed in green and gold emerged, many clapped for him as he took his seat brushing back his blonde hair with a smug grin."

"Next id like to welcome the President of Eruns Center of Intelligence, Samuel Djano."

Nobody clapped as a man with black antlers on his white hair sit down next to Lilserm."

"I gotta feelin' this guy talkin' is a robot..."

"What?"

"Next I'd like to welcome Valentine Bushido."

"Hey, it's Vee!"

They didn't give him a title, as many clapped for Vee he sat down with new clothes. I couldn't see him clearly as he sat down next to Jaxton.

"Next I'd like to welcome the CEO of Westwind Farms, Daniel Nill."

Many clapped for Daniel as he sat down next to Vee, who looked at me in the crowd with a surprised look. 

"Next I'd like to welcome the Founder of the Erun Preservation Society, Opal Cinnoso."

The whole room began to clap for a woman... I think. They had white hair, with pink and cyan highlights. They dressed elegantly, as they all sat only the final chair remained.

"I now give the floor to the Head Director of The Erun Directory Board Association, K-"

The name was cut off, as a tall woman walked out and stood at the center of their booth. She had one red and one white eye white hair, dressed in black and red. She halted their claps, and spoke with a stern tone.

"Citizens of Erun, I stand before you a woman who has not been alive for the past 20 years. We have all been in confusion on what exactly happened just two days ago, some of us woke up remembering everything that had happened to us before we woke up in this new world. Some of us, cured, some of us, cursed with the knowledge of what once was. I stand before you as a firm voice in this confusion, I will stand at nothing under our questions are answered. I give the next section to Mr. Bushido."

Vee stood, as he looked down at us with a seemingly mighty personality. 

"There are many of us in this room that have been dead for years, and it's thanks to The Dove that we are able to walk again. I stand here, once a cursed man who couldn't even hold a blade without sacrificing my blood to it, now someone who can cut down any threat Erun may face. While a threat has not been identified, our constant questions about this new world will be answered thanks to my new life. Thank you."

He sat, as me and many more clapped the white haired woman stood again.

"Some of you sit there waiting for me to announce myself, and many of you know exactly who I am."

I could see chatter, who is this lady?

"My name is Ki Kimura, and I-"

Almost immediately, the entire room gasped and began to mutter to each other. I could even see Vee look over at her in denial, Ki being alive changes... almost everything.

"I will not stand in this nation knowing that we are in the dark! We were shunned in darkness for too long! I will continue to fight for Erun!"

The room began to chant her name.

"Let us usher in an Era for Erun!"

"We will honor The Doves Sacrifice."

"We will honor The Doves life."

"Long live Era Peristerá!"
