———Lazy Author Time Skip To The Next Day———
The following day arrives, I can feel the excitement bubbling inside me, as I make my way to Vox's house. As soon as I step inside, I am greeted by the eager wagging of Vark's tail, his hammerhead frame bounding over to me for attention. I giggle and give him a pet pets, his playful nature putting a smile on my face. "Hey there, Vark" I coo, scratching the top of his head, as he nuzzles into my leg. Vox emerges from the next room, a grin spreading across his face as he sees us bonding. "If I didn't know any better, I'd have thought you were here to see Vark, not me!" he teases, his voice light with amusement. I chuckle and stand up, "Someone sounds a bit jealous, don't they Vark!" I reply, looking back down at the shark, I continue. "Well, who could resist such a charming companion?", shooting Vox a playful wink. He laughs and steps towards me, offering me his arm. "Shall we head out for some shopping?".
With a nod and a smile, I loop my arm through his, relishing the warmth of his touch as we make our way out of the door. As we stroll through the streets of hell, our conversation flows effortlessly, punctuated by shared laughter and banter, "So, what's on our shopping agenda today?" I inquire, casting a grin at Vox. "Oh, you know, the usual; clothes, gadgets, maybe a little something special for our day out together" he replies, his tone teasing. I raise an eyebrow in intrigue, unable to supress the flutter of excitement in my chest. "Sounds like I plan" I beam, squeezing his arm gently, "Lead the way, Vox". As we go into a technology shop, we browse at the array of gadgets and accessories, Vox's eyes light up when he spots a sleek smartphone on display. I don't know why I'm surprised he brought me in here, being the Tv demon and owner of VoxTech, I'm pretty sure he owns 90 percent of the products in here. Without hesitation, he picks it up and presents it to me with a charming smile.
"I think this would be perfect for you" he says, "It'll help you stay connected and safe, especially after the other evening with Val". I hesitate, feeling a surge of gratitude for his thoughtfulness, but a twinge of guilt at the reminder of my evening in the club with Valentino. "I appreciate the gesture, Vox, but I don't want to be a burden" I protest, trying to decline the generous offer. But Vox shakes his head at me, his expression firm yet caring. "Nonsense" he insists, his eyes softening with sincerity. "I'd feel much better knowing you had a way to contact me if you ever needed help. Consider it a gift from a friend". Unable to resist his kindness, I smile gratefully and accept the phone. Next on our shopping trip was the suit shop, Vox's favourite suit shop. I can't help but notice his eyes light up as we enter the shop, his gaze rested on the racks of suits, eager to look through the finely tailored garments. He selected a few suits and disappears into the fitting room to try them on, coming out each time to show off the outfit to me.
One by one, he emerges from the dressing room, each time striking a pose and modelling the suits with a theatrical flair. Despite his best efforts to impress, I can't help but tease him mercilessly, pointing out that they all look virtually identical to the sleek black and cyan ensemble that he always wears. "Isn't it time to switch things up a bit?" I jest, unable to contain my amusement as Vox poses in front of the mirror "I mean, they all look great on you, but a little variety wouldn't hurt, right?". He chuckles at my ribbing. "Why mess with perfection?" he retorts playfully, striking another pose before disappearing back into the fitting room to try on yet another identical suit. He purchases a few copies of the same suit and we head back out onto the street. I spot Vox looking across the road, at the sweet shop. "Someone got a sweet tooth?" I pry, looking up at him with a grin. "Not me, but Vel has a huge sweet tooth, she'd be pissed if she knew I went past her and didn't grab her something". Grinning at Vox's admission about Velvette's sweet tooth, I follow him into the shop, the delectable aroma of confections filling the air. As he peruses the colourful displays, his eyes lighting up with childlike delight, I can't help but tease him. "Aw, look at you, all soft and gooey on the inside" I tease, nudging him playfully as he selects an assortment of sweets and chocolates. "Who knew the big bad Tv demon had such a sweet side?". Vox rolls his eyes at my comments, though I can see the amusement on this expression as he pays for the treats and tucks them in one of the bags he was carrying. "Don't get used to it" he quips, his tone light and playful. "I have a reputation to uphold, you know".
As we stroll through the streets, Vox suggests we start heading back home, mentioning that he's planning to cook us dinner. I raise an eyebrow in surprise, not expecting him to have culinary skills. "You can cook?" I ask sceptically, unable to hide my surprise. Vox simulates offense, placing a clawed hand over his heart dramatically. "Of course, I can cook" he retorts with irritation. "I'll have you know I'm a demon of many talents", I chuckle at his response, realizing that there is so much more I have yet to learn about him. As we step through the door of Vox's house, a comforting warmth envelops us. He motions for me to make myself comfortable on the plush sofa while he disappears into the kitchen to make a start on dinner. The tantalizing aroma of sizzling meat fills the air, mingling with the savoury scent of roasted vegetables. My stomach rumbles in anticipation as the mouthwatering smells waft from the kitchen, teasing my senses. While Vox works his culinary magic in the kitchen, I take the opportunity to unpack my new phone, marvelling at its sleek design and advanced features. As I set it up, I felt a huge sense of gratitude towards Vox for the thoughtful gesture, knowing that I have this will provide with a better sense of security when out and about. Lost in the excitement of exploring my new gadget, I barely notice the passage of time, until vox shouts from the dining room, instructing me to come in for food.
I take a seat down at the table and look up as he emerges from the kitchen, a proud smile on his face. As Vox sets the plate of food before me, I'm immediately captivated by the sight of the perfectly cooked steak, its juices glistening invitingly under the soft glow of the lights above the table, The vegetables, roasted to perfection, exude a delectable aroma that sets my taste buds tingly. "Wow, Vox, this looks amazing!" I exclaim, unable to hide my excitement, as I pick up my fork, eager to dig in. He chuckles softly, a hint of pride evident in his voice as he replies, "Glad you think so. I may not look it, but I'm quite handy in the kitchen" with the first bite, a symphony of flavours explodes on my tongue, each mouthful more delightful than the last. I can't help but close my eyes and savour the moment, lost in the sheer bliss of the meal in front of me. In a moment of unguarded enthusiasm, I let slip a comment about the food being better than sex, only to realise the implications of my words a moment too late. Vox's reaction is immediate; a playful glint dances in his eyes as he shoots me a sultry grin. "Is that so?" he teases, his voice taking a flirtatious edge as he leans in closer. "Guess I'll have to work that extra hard to change your mind about that". Despite the playful banter, a faint blush tinges my cheeks as I realize the suggestive undertones of his words. The tension between us crackles with electricity, a silent acknowledgment of the unspoken attraction beneath the surface of our friendship.
As we settle into the comfort of the living room, the soft glow of the television casting flickering shadows across the walls. I find my attention drifting away from one screen to another, instead im irresistibly drawn to Vox beside me. A tension hanging heavy in the air, each stolen glance and fleeting touch only stoking the flame of desire hidden beneath the surface. It is clear that neither of us is paying much attention to the film playing on the screen. Our minds are elsewhere, consumed by the intoxicating pull of attraction that binds us together. With each passing moment, the air grows thicker with desperation, the weight of our unspoken desires hanging between us. In the dim light of the room, Vox's features are slightly cast in shadow, his gaze intense and unwavering as he meets my eyes. There's a hunger there, raw and primal, that sets my pulse racing and sends a shiver down my spine. I can feel the heat rising between us, a simmering passion that threatens to ignite into something more.
