Valentino comes in, announcing my first day of work. I rise from the bed and shuffle over to the mirror, dreading what I'll see. As I gaze at my reflection, the sight that meets my eyes is disheartening—I look exhausted, my skin pallid and my eyes sunken with dark circles. He approaches from behind, his hands gently resting on my shoulders. "It's nothing that can't be fixed" he reassures me, his voice carrying a hint of warmth that contrasts sharply with Vox's cold demeanour. I turn to him, feeling self-conscious. "I look awful, I don't think that can be fixed" I confess, unable to mask my dismay at the reflection before me. He smiles reassuringly and gently brushes my hair away from my face. "You're still beautiful to me,amor" he says softly, his words offering a glimmer of comfort amidst my insecurities. "We will freshen you up at the studio".
I settle back onto the bed, my gaze fixed on Val as he stands before me, his presence commanding the room. "What work is it I'm doing?" I inquire, though I already anticipate his response. He meets my eyes, a knowing smile playing on his lips, his demeanor exuding a sense of authority and control. "You'll be one of my porn stars" he replies confidently, his tone firm and assured, confirming what I had suspected all along. As his words sink in, I feel a mix of apprehension and resignation wash over me. Becoming one of Val's stars was the last thing I ever imagined for myself, yet here I am, on the verge of stepping into a world I never wanted to be a part of. Despite my inner turmoil, I try to maintain a semblance of composure, masking my unease behind a facade of indifference.
I narrow my eyes, a flicker of defiance igniting within me as I remind Val of the one crucial detail they seem to have overlooked. "What about Charlie and the hotel?" I challenge, my voice laced with a hint of desperation. "They must be wondering where I am". Before Val can respond, the door swings open, and Vox strides into the room with an air of confidence. "I've taken care of that" he announces, his tone casual yet assured. My gaze shifts to him, a mix of curiosity and apprehension swirling in my eyes as I await his explanation. He crosses the room with purpose, his eyes locking onto mine with an intensity that sends a shiver down my spine. "I've told Charlie we've moved in together" he explains, his voice smooth and measured. "They know they won't be seeing you for a while, I told them we'd stop by at some point soon".
My annoyance simmers beneath the surface as Vox delivers his news with a casual air, as though the disruption to my life is nothing more than a minor inconvenience. "You went to the hotel?" I echo, incredulity coloring my tone. "You told them we've moved in together?". He nods, his expression unreadable as he continues, "Charlie was thrilled for us". His words only fuel my frustration, the realization sinking in that my absence has been neatly explained away to those who matter most to me. "You had no right to do that" I snap, my voice tinged with frustration. "They trust you, and you've manipulated them into believing a lie". Vox's smirk only widens in response to my outburst, his gaze unwavering as he meets my glare with a hint of amusement. "They like me, all thanks to you" he replies casually, as if that justifies his actions. "Besides, it's not like we're hurting anyone, well them at least". His words send a chill down my spine, his sinister grin sending a shiver of unease through me. The implications of his statement hang heavily in the air, and I can't shake the feeling that he's hinting at something far more sinister than he's letting on. With that statement he turns and leaves the room, Valentino helps me up and gestures for me to follow him, we start walking through the building, I recognise where I am. This whole time I've been in the studio.
He guides me into the dressing room, his grip firm yet strangely possessive as he holds me by the waist. As we step inside, I take in my new surroundings, noting the array of cameras discreetly positioned in the corners of the room. The realization that I'm being watched sends a shiver down my spine, and I can't help but feel a sense of unease wash over me. He catches my gaze drifting towards the cameras, and a smirk tugs at the corners of his lips. "Don't worry about those" he says casually, his tone laced with a hint of amusement. "Vox has seen it all before, remember". His casual remark about Vox having seen it all before hits me like a punch to the gut. The memory of my intimate moments with Vox, now tainted by betrayal and manipulation, floods my mind, leaving me feeling raw and vulnerable. Swallowing hard, I force myself to maintain a facade of composure, refusing to give him the satisfaction of seeing how deeply his words have wounded me. But beneath the surface, the wounds fester, a painful reminder of the tangled web of deceit and manipulation in which I find myself ensnared.
