As the morning light filtered through the curtains, I stirred from my sleep, feeling a distinct chill in the air. Blinking groggily, I shifted under the covers, only to realize that Angel had somehow managed to cocoon himself in the blankets, leaving me with barely a sliver to cling to. With a playful groan, I reached out and poked Angel gently, trying to rouse him from his slumber. "Hey, wake up" I murmured, a hint of amusement in my voice. "You stole all the blankets". He stirred at my touch, his eyes fluttering open as he blinked blearily in the morning light. "Huh? What?" he mumbled, still half-asleep. I chuckled at his drowsy confusion, gesturing to the tangled mess of blankets between us. "You're a blanket hog" I teased, a playful grin tugging at my lips. "I think you owe me some covers". His eyes widened in realization as he glanced down at the blankets, a sheepish grin spreading across his face. "Oops, my bad" he replied with a chuckle, reaching out to untangle the blankets and share them more evenly. And as we both settled back under the covers, I couldn't help but smile at the warmth of our friendship, even in the early hours of the morning.
As we reluctantly peeled ourselves from the warmth of the blankets, I glanced at the clock and realized it was time to start the day. "Come on, we better get up for work" I suggested, nudging Angel gently to spur him into action. Together, we made our way to the studio, navigating the bustling streets of Hell with a sense of purpose. As we entered the familiar surroundings of Valentino's domain, I couldn't help but notice a shift in the atmosphere. Val greeted us with a smile, his mood noticeably lighter than usual. "Good morning, darlings" Val greeted us cheerfully, his voice carrying a hint of excitement. "I have a special job for you two today". Curious, I exchanged a glance with Angel, wondering what Val had in store for us. "What's the job?" I asked, unable to contain my curiosity. He grinned mischievously, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. "You two are going to be posing for posters" he announced, gesturing towards a stack of glossy prints nearby. "We need a fresh faces for our advertising campaign, you fit the bill perfectly and Angel always does well for the advertising". I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the suggestion, feeling a twinge of unease at the thought of being plastered on posters for all of Hell to see. "But Val, I'm not a porn star" I protested, feeling a surge of apprehension. He waved off my concerns with a dismissive gesture. "Oh, don't worry about that, Amor" he replied casually. "These are just posters, nothing too risqué. It's all for the sake of advertisement". I exchanged a skeptical glance with Angel, unsure of how to feel about Val's proposal. But as I looked into Angel's eyes, I saw a spark of determination, a silent agreement passing between us.
As we entered the dressing room, I couldn't help but feel a knot of nervousness forming in my stomach at the sight of the provocative outfits adorning the rack. While Angel seemed positively thrilled by the array of daring costumes, his excitement palpable as he eagerly examined each one, I couldn't shake the feeling of apprehension that lingered within me. "Wow, check these out!" Angel exclaimed, his eyes alight with enthusiasm as he perused the selection of garments. "Aren't they amazing?". I forced a smile, trying to mask my unease as I glanced over the elaborate costumes. "Yeah, they're definitely... something" I replied tentatively, my voice betraying my uncertainty. Sensing my hesitation, Angel cast me a sympathetic glance, his expression filled with understanding. "Hey, don't worry about it," he reassured me, his tone gentle. "At least you're not doing boring paperwork all day, right?". I nodded in agreement, grateful for his attempt to ease my nerves. "Yeah, you're right" I admitted, a small smile tugging at my lips. "I suppose there are worse things I could be doing". He grinned, his enthusiasm infectious. "Exactly! And hey, I'm just grateful I'm not filming or dealing with clients, this will be much more fun" he added with a playful wink. I couldn't help but chuckle at his lighthearted remark, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. Despite my initial apprehension, Angel's optimism was contagious, and I found myself feeling more at ease in his presence.
