After the intense encounter with Val, the rest of the day at work felt like a welcome reprieve from the tension of the studio. Engulfed in a flurry of paperwork, emails, and mundane tasks like ordering supplies, I found solace in the routine of my daily responsibilities. As I sifted through stacks of paperwork, meticulously organizing and filing documents, my mind occasionally drifted back to the unsettling encounter with Val earlier in the day. However, the demands of my workload quickly pulled me back to the present, grounding me in the familiarity of my administrative duties. Amidst the humdrum of office tasks, I found a sense of comfort in the rhythmic repetition of my work, the steady rhythm of typing keys and shuffling papers providing a soothing backdrop to the chaos of my thoughts. With each completed task, I felt a small sense of accomplishment, a reminder that despite the distractions and challenges, I remained capable of navigating the complexities of my professional life. As the day drew to a close and the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow across the office, I reflected on the events of the day with a mixture of relief and apprehension. While the encounter with Val had left me shaken, I found solace in the familiarity of my routine, grateful for the mundane distractions that provided a temporary escape from the tumultuous world of the studio.

As the day wore on and the office grew quieter, a subtle sense of unease crept over me, as if I were being watched. Instinctively, I glanced up from my paperwork, and there he was—Vox, leaning casually against the doorframe, his presence both unexpected and oddly comforting. I couldn't help but feel a rush of relief at the sight of him, his familiar silhouette offering a welcomed respite from the monotony of my surroundings. With a gentle smile, he met my gaze, his expression soft and reassuring, as if he could sense the tension that lingered beneath the surface. "Hey there" he greeted me, his voice a soothing melody in the quiet office space. "Just thought I'd check in on you. How's your day been?". His words were like a lifeline, drawing me out of my thoughts and back into the present moment. With a grateful sigh, I set aside my work and turned to face him, a wave of warmth washing over me at the sight of his familiar face. "It's been... pretty boring after the eventful morning" I admitted, offering him a small smile. "But seeing you here is definitely a highlight".

Curiosity piqued, I leaned in slightly, eager to hear more about his meeting with Val and Velvette. "So, how did the meeting go?" I inquired, my tone laced with genuine interest. He shrugged casually, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips. "It went okay" he replied, his voice tinged with a hint of amusement. "We managed to get a lot of bits done, surprisingly enough" I nodded, absorbing his words with a thoughtful expression. "That's good to hear" I remarked, a note of relief evident in my voice. "Although, I couldn't help but notice... When I left, I could hear you and Val arguing. Everything okay?". His expression shifted slightly, a flicker of concern crossing his features. "Ah, yeah" he replied, his tone carefully neutral. As Vox leaned against my desk, his demeanor shifted slightly, his expression taking on a more serious tone. "It's just Val's still on about you" he began, his voice tinged with frustration. "He keeps insisting that I seem to conveniently pop up at the right time and that I need to stop 'convincing' you not to be one of his stars". I couldn't help but scoff at the absurdity of his accusations. "As if I need convincing" I muttered under my breath, feeling a surge of annoyance at his persistence. Vox's gaze softened, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips as he reached out to gently squeeze my hand. "Hey, as your boyfriend, I'm here to look out for you" he reassured me, his voice warm and comforting. "I know, but..." I trailed off, unsure of how to articulate my conflicted feelings.

His expression grew more serious, his brow furrowing in concern. "But what?" he prompted gently, his gaze searching mine for answers. I sighed, running a hand through my hair in frustration. "But I hate seeing you caught in the middle like this" I admitted, my voice laced with guilt. "I know how much this business means to you, and I don't want to be the reason for any tension between you and Val". His grip on my hand tightened slightly, his eyes softening with understanding. "Hey, it's not your fault" he reassured me, his voice unwavering. "Val's just... stubborn, that's all. But I'll handle him. You don't need to worry about that". I offered him a grateful smile, feeling a sense of relief wash over me at his words. "Thanks, Vox" I murmured, sincerity ringing in my voice. "I don't know what I'd do without you". "Who knew our little romance would cause such a stir?", I quipped, a playful smile tugging at the corners of my lips. He grinned, his expression softening as he gazed at me with affection. "Hey, anything to keep life interesting, right?" he replied, his voice tinged with warmth. "Besides, it's worth it if it means I get to call you mine". I felt a rush of warmth spread through me at his words, my heart swelling with affection for him. "Damn right it is" I teased, leaning in to press a quick kiss to his cheek. "Now, let me get back to work before Val decides to pay me another visit".
