As the sun begins to rise, I slowly awaken from the depths of sleep, the remnants of our passionate night still lingering in the air. My body aches pleasantly, a reminder of the intensity of last night. Besides me, Vox stirs, his movements graceful as he begins to emerge from his slumber. I watch him through half lidded eyes, a soft smile brushing my face as I revel in the sight of him in the gentle morning glow. "Good morning" I murmur, my voice thick with sleep. He turns to me, his system booting up for the day, his eyes meet mine and a lazy grin spread across his lips. "Morning" he replies, his voice husky with sleep. We lay there for a moment, with a sigh, Vox stretches, his arms flexing beneath the sheets, I can't help but admire the way his body moves. "Did you sleep well? He asks, his gaze softening as it rests on me, I nod, a contempt sigh escape my lips. "Like a baby" I reply. As we both slowly sit up, Vox's hand finds mine, intertwining our fingers in a silent gesture. "I'm going to go get us some breakfast, I will be back in a moment" he announces, as he slips out of the bed with graceful ease. He gets dressed in the same attire he always wears, "sounds perfect" I reply with a smile. As he disappears into the kitchen to prepare breakfast and take in the room around me, I could honestly forget that I'm in hell, it is so peaceful here.
Moments later, Vox returns, a tray laden with steaming food in hand. The aroma making my stomach rumble, "Breakfast is served", he announces with a grin, setting the tray down in front of me. As we dig into the meal together, laughter and conversation flowing freely between us. After breakfast, Vox glances at the clock and sighs. "I have a meeting shortly", he explains, a hint of regret in his voice, "But you're welcome to stay here if you like, I'll be back before you know it". I nod, "I'll be here" I assure him. As he gathers his things and prepares to leave, I can't help but feel a twinge of disappointment that he has to go so soon. He leans in to press a tender kiss to my forehead, with a final glance, he slips out of the door, leaving me alone in his room once more. I listen to the distant echoes of his footsteps fading away. I settle back into the comfort of his bed and drift into a contented slumber.
I'm suddenly roused from sleep by the sensation of someone sitting beside me. My heart races, ah Vox is back, finally! I slowly open my eyes, only to find Valentino, his sinister grin sending shivers down my spine. "Hey there, baby" he purrs, his voice dripping with lust as he strokes my fluffy ears. Panic courses through me as I try to push myself away from him, but he tightens his grip on my ears, sending waves of revulsion through my trembling body. "Ow, that hurts! What do you want?" I demand, my voice shaking. Valentino's grin widens, his eyes gleaming with predatory amusement. "Just wanted to say hello to my favourite little kitten, the one who keeps slipping away" he taunts, his fingers trailing down my cheek, making my skin crawl. "And you can't have pleasure without some pain, baby" he whispers in my ear. I try to muster up the courage to push him away, but he looms over me like a suffocating shadow, a nightmare which I can't escape. "Stay away from me", my voice trembles. Valentino chuckles darkly, his grip on me tightening, "You can't resist me Kitty" he whispers, his breath hot against my face. With a sinking feeling in my stomach, I realise I'm at his mercy.
As my fear heightens, I manage to summon the courage to speak, "Why are you here?", I demand, my eyes locking onto his. His gaze doesn't waver as he leans in, his presence suffocating. "Just paying a little visit" he purrs. "But how did you know I was here?" I press, my voice still shaking. He smiles at me, his eyes narrowing, "Let's just say I have my ways", he replies cryptically. His fingers tracing my chin, lifting up my head, so he can run his long, warm tongue along my neck, making my hair standup. Before I can respond, he continues "But enough about that", he murmurs his voice low and dangerous, "I'm here now, so why don't we have a little fun". Relief floods through me as Vox's voice cuts through the tense atmosphere, his irritation palpable as he enters the room, his eyes narrowed at Valentino. "Val, the fuck are you doing in here?" Vox demands, his tone sharp, "I thought you went to get some water from the kitchen. Leave her be". Valentino lets go of me, a smirk on his lips, as he rises from the bed, his gaze never leaving mine. "Just thought I'd pay a visit to our little kitten" he replies, his voice smooth. Vox clenches his jaw, as he takes a step forward. "She's not your plaything, Val" he growls, "Leave her alone, I'm bored of this now". For a moment, the room hangs heavy with tension, the air crackling with the intensity of the standoff between the two demons. But then, with a dismissive wave of his hand, Valentino turns on his heel and struts out of the room, blowing a kiss at the pair of us before leaving.
Vox lets out a heavy sigh, his shoulder slumping, turning to me, his expression softens. "Are you alright?" he gently asks. I nod, extremely grateful he intervened, "I am now", offering him a weak smile. With a reassuring squeeze of my hand, Vox settles into bed beside me, we sit in silence, the weight of the encounter slowly melting away. "I'm sorry", Vox breaks the silence, his apology catches me off guard. "He's not always an asshole, I actually think you could end up liking him, once he loses this stupid obsession with you" he says, his voice a mix of frustration and empathy. I nod slowly, "I'll take your word for it" I cautiously reply, unsure if I can trust Valentino despite Vox's reassurance. Curiosity gnaws at me as I look a Vox, prompting me to ask the question that has been lingering in the back of my mind. "How do you know Val, how did you come to be one of his business partners?" I inquire.
Vox sighs "We've known each other for a long time". "Val took an interest in me when I was just starting to rise to power", he explains, his gaze distance as e reminisces, "He saw the potential in me, showed me how powerful we could be together". I listen intently, "And Velvette?" I prompt, curious to learn more about their dynamic. Vox's lips quirk into a smile at the mention of Velvette, a hint of fondness in his voice "Ah, Velvette" he muses. "She was one of Val's friends, she joined us a bit later on, adding her bran of charm and cunning to the mix". He continues, his voice growing more animated, as he recounts their journey to formidable overlords. "Together, the three of us became a force to be reckoned with" he says, pride creeping into his voice, "Some of the most powerful overlords in Hell". As vox's story unfolds, I can't help but marvel at the intricacies of their relationship. As I look at Vox, his eyes alight with memories, I feel a new bound feeling of respect and admiration for the demon who has become my unexpected ally.
"The hotel I'm staying at has another demon, Alastor, do you know him?" I ask, slightly nervous to ask. The mention of Alastor prompts a glitch in Vox's screen, his usually composed demeanour faltering, before he regains his composure. "Alator" he murmurs his voice low, "Yes, I know him". I watch Vox carefully, sensing the tension that linger beneath the surface of his words. "I only ask, as he was asking about you the other day" I mention casually, hoping to get more of an insight into their relationship. But before I can continue, Vox's reaction takes me by surprise. One of his eye's flares with a sudden intensity, black rings appearing on his eye, his screen glitching with rage as a surge if energy crackles around him. "Alastor" he snarls, his voice glitching out with static, "That fucker". I recoil slightly at the outburst, taken aback by the ferocity of Vox's response, it is clear that there's a deep history between them. As Vox takes a moment to compose himself, I can't help but feel disappointed, his reaction has left me with more questions not answers. "I'm going to guess it's a long story" I say, flashing him a soft smile. His gaze softens as he meets my eyes, a ghost of a smile on his lips. "You could say that" he replies cryptically, his voice still carrying his irritation. I nod in understanding, sensing that there are depths to Vox's past that he's not ready to share, but I can't help but feel the twinge of curiosity. "Perhaps one day you'll tell me about it" I suggest gently, reaching out and squeezing his hand in support. His eyes meet mine, a flicker of gratitude shining in their depths. "Perhaps" he murmurs, his voice barely above a whisper.
As the weight of our conversation lingers in the air, I finally muster the courage to speak up, "Hey, Vox" I begin tentatively, "Do you think you could take me back to the hotel? I should probably head back soon". His lips curl into a mischievous grin as he leans back against the pillows, "What's the matter? Had enough of my humble abode already?" he teases, his voice dripping with mock indignation. I can't help but laugh at his antics, the tension of the moment dissipating into the warmth of out laughter. "Nothing like that" I assure him, shaking my head with a smile. "I just don't want to overstay my welcome". He chuckles softly, reaching out to tousle my hair affectionately. "Alright, alright, I suppose I can spare a few more minutes to get escort you back to the hotel" he says, his tone light and playful. With a grin, I hop off the bed. "Lead the way, Sir" I declare, gesturing for him to follow, he raises an eyebrow and laughs. As we make our way out of his room, laughter echoes through the house. As we drive back to the hotel, the tension from earlier has completely gone, it has been replaced by a sense of ease being in Vox's presence. The gentle hum of the cars engine fills the air, punctuated by our conversation. Suddenly, Vox's clawed hand finds it's way to my thigh, sending a jolt of electricity coursing through me. I glance up at him, surprised by the unexpected touch, but he meets my gaze with a warm smile, his eyes twinkling with something more. "Thanks for coming over yesterday" he says softly, his voice laced with appreciation. I smile back, feeling a warmth spread through me at his words. "Anytime" I reply, my voice barely a whisper. As we pull up to the entrance of the hotel, he brings the car to a stop, his hand lingering on my thigh for a moment longer. And then, with a quick tender kiss, he bids me farewell. His lips warm against mine before I step out of the car and make my way into the hotel.
