Chapter 31 : Two Truths, One Lie

(A/N - I hate hate hate this chapter. It's awful, my apologies)

Gathered in the cozy confines of one of the large rooms in the hotel, Charlie beams at the group, her enthusiasm contagious as she explains the activity. She grabbed me, Vaggie, Angel, Husk and Sir Pentious, Nifty was busy with Alastor.  "Alright, everyone", Charlie begins, her voice warm and inviting. "Today, we're going to play a game called Two Truths and One Lie. It's a fun way for us to get to know each other better and build stronger connections as we work towards redemption". She pauses, allowing her words to sink in before continuing. "Here's how it works: each of us will take turns sharing three statements about ourselves. Two of them will be true, and one will be a lie. The rest of the group will then have to guess which statement is the lie. Simple, right?". Nods of agreement ripple through the group as they listen intently to Charlie's instructions.

"I'll go first to demonstrate", Charlie offers, a playful twinkle in her eye. "Let's see... I sleep with a nightlight on, I can't handle spicy food, and I'm terrified of heights".  She looks around the room, her gaze challenging the others to decipher her lie.
Sir Pentious strokes his chin thoughtfully. "I'm going to guess the one about you being terrified of heights" he suggests, earning a nod of confirmation from Charlie. "Correct!" Charlie exclaims, flashing a triumphant grin. "As much as I may dislike spicy food, heights have never been a problem for me. But hey, a little fear makes life interesting, doesn't it?". With Charlie's demonstration complete, the rest of the group eagerly prepares to take their turn. Angel grins mischievously and quips, "So the princess of hell sleeps with a nightlight, huh? Wouldn't have guessed that one", Vaggie shoots him a disapproving glare, and with a sigh, she says, "Angel, you never learn. Since you're such a loudmouth, why don't you go next?", Her tone carries a mix of exasperation and amusement, prompting Angel to take his turn in the activity.

Angel clears his throat dramatically, a smirk playing on his lips as he begins, "Alright, alright. Two truths and a lie, let's see..." He pauses for effect, winking at me before continuing, "I've got a collection of adult toys that could put some sex shops to shame, I'm a secret fan of romantic comedies and I've never been caught in the act". Husk grumbles under his breath, "For the love of... Why is it always about the sex with you, Angel? Can't you give it a rest for once?", He shoots Angel a pointed look, clearly exasperated by his constant innuendos. Angel grins mischievously at Husk's remark and retorts, "Oh, come on, kitty cat, you know you love the attention", He winks suggestively, earning an eye roll from Husk. I join in with a playful jab, "So, Angel, it's gotta be the last one, being caught in the act must be a regular Tuesday for you. I mean, you're the porn star here, right? It comes with the territory!" We all share a laugh at the jest, lightening the mood in the room. Angel nods in agreement with my remark before turning his attention to Husk, signaling that it's his turn to share. Husk grumbles something under his breath about the ridiculousness of the activity but reluctantly begins to share his three statements.

Husk clears his throat before speaking up, his voice tinged with a hint of irritation. "Alright, let's get this over with. First, I've been banned from most casinos this side of the pentagram. Second, I used to perform magic tricks as a side hobby. And third, I've never touched a drop of alcohol in my life." As he finishes, he leans back in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest, waiting for the others to guess which statement is the lie. Everyone starts to laugh. Vaggie chuckles as she eyes the bottle perpetually in Husk's grip. "Well, this is going to be really hard" she says with a smirk. "There's a bottle permanently attached to your hand. It's almost as if you're an alcoholic. So the last one, definitely the lie". Husk grumbles in response to Vagi's comment, but a smirk tugs at the corner of his lips. "Alright, alright, so maybe that one was too easy", he admits, taking a swig from the bottle in his hand.
