I was peacefully sleeping in my room when I started hearing noises, they were bangs, but I couldn't quite figure out what they were hitting. I thought I was dreaming, so I didn't pay much attention. I closed my eyes again and realized it wasn't a dream. I got out of bed to listen better; it wasn't very loud but noticeable. I opened the door to my balcony because the noise was coming from outside.

I looked around to locate it better, and those bangs were coming from Danna's house. It seemed strange given the early hour of the morning. The lights in the house were on, but it wasn't very visible inside. I stood there for a few seconds, and over time, I could hear aggressive shouts. It was a man's voice, very low, but I could identify it.

I stood still and a bit scared; I think the man was banging on a door because I heard him say something like, "Let me in, or I swear I'll break the door down," it sounded too aggressive. Then a female voice appeared, not Danna's, I suppose it was her mother, and she said, "I'm calling the police," and when Danna spoke, she pleaded for this man to leave them alone.

That's when I realized what was happening, and I ran to my parents' room to tell them and do something. Romina heard me.

"Vicky? What happened?" she asked.

I was so nervous that I didn't respond.

"Dad, Mom," I woke them up by shaking them.

It took me a bit to wake them up.

"Eh? What happened?" my father asked, turning on the light.

My mother also woke up and seeing me nervous asked, "My love, are you okay?"

"No, I'm very scared, I heard bangs at Danna's house and screams. Her mother and she are in danger," I said very nervously. Time is running out, and the situation could worsen.

Without asking for an explanation, my parents went downstairs to listen to the noises. They had stopped for a few minutes but returned.

"This is serious," my mother said.

"What are we going to do? We have to help them."

"Oh, what's going on?" Romina said, still a bit sleepy.

"I'll explain later."

My father put on his dressing gown and left the house.

"Are you going there? Are you crazy?" my mother said.

"Calm down, stay here."

"But what if he does something to him?" my sister asked, as nervous as my mother and me.

"I'm going to call the police," I said, grabbing my phone.

"No! Vicky, not now," my mother stopped me.

"But, Mom, they are in danger. Are you going to let him do something to them?"

"Yes, Vicky, I would call a thousand police officers, but we don't know how crazy that guy is. What if he hears the sirens of the cars coming to get him and does something worse? We can't understand how he's going to act."

My mother was right; I would have felt guilty if I had called the police, and if my mother hadn't stopped me, maybe Danna and her mother would be... I don't even want to say it.

My hands were shaking, and with all this, and my father being at Danna's door, it gives me goosebumps.

We waited for my father. My mother looked out the window, and Romina wandered around the house.

The door opened, and my father appeared, running his hand over his face; he was more worried than usual.

We quickly went to ask him what was going on.
