Once all the students except the 7th and 8th years left the hall, McGonagall left her high chair at the teacher's table and made her way to the small chamber beside the hall. She opened the door to it and a tall man in midnight blue robes came out. He waved to Harry, Ron and Hermione as he passed the Gryffindor table. McGonagall conjured a comfortable chair out of thin air for him. Kingsley Shaklebolt sat and signalled her to start something...
"Dear Students" McGonagall began and many stared at her in disbelief for calling them 'dear', she was usually the strict and stern teacher that they loved (except Slytherins). "There is a new law introduced by the ministry - The Marriage Law." Many stared at her and couples glanced a look at eachother. Ginny took out her wand but Harry was too quick for her. Expelliarmus he thought pointing wand at hers and her wand flew out of her hand. Harry caught it and Ginny glared at him, but before she could utter a single word, McGonagall opened her mouth.
"I will now request the minister of magic to tell you about this law." She said sternly.
"Good evening students" Kinsley began, standing up from his chair. "There is a special reason why this rule have been applied." "What's the reason?" asked Pansy Parkison from the Slytherin table, bitterly. "We will tell you the reason once it is time" Kingsley said calmly. "In this law, you will have to marry the person we tell you by the end of this term." He said as if there was no interruption. "How can we marry someone random?" a blonde boy asked from the Hufflepuff table. "Well, that random will be your soulmate." Kingsley answered calmly. "How are you so sure it will be our soulmate, mr.minister?" A Ravenclaw girl asked, giving Kingsley some respect. "Tomorrow, some ministery workers will come with a very ancient flower that tells a person the name of their soulmate. This law has been implied on the wizarding community in 1859 and 1845 and so we are completely sure that the flower will make the right decision. The flower is somewhat similar to the sorting hat and the two of them always make the right decision. Believe us, we are doing this for the greater good and we have a very good reason for it." Kingsley answered and sat back on the chair.
"Students, I am really sorry, but on knowing the reason behind this law, I can assure you that it is for the greater good indeed." McGonagall said. "This law won't be applied on all of you, only 10 girls and their soulmates will be selected. 5 more girls that are Hogwarts pass outs will be selected for this law. Thank You and now you can go to your dorms."
"Harry James Potter, give me my wand back or I will kill you the Muggle way and then kill all those who are a part of this law." Ginny whispered angrily. "Gin, wait till tomorrow, wait till your soulmate is announced, and if it is not me, I will leave all my magic and live with you as muggles." Harry said calmly. "Oh Harry, don't say that!" Ginny said, suddenly worried. "Gin, I love you and I believe in you, I believe in us, nothing and no one can separate us, don't worry." Harry said looking at her eyes. His voice was calm and confident but Ginny could notice the worry of not being her soulmate build up in his eyes. "I believe in us." Ginny said holding his hands. "Aww, you two are so cute together!! I have never seen that side of you Gin-sorry-Ginny" Hermione said sweetly and Ginny blushed. They began to leave but McGonagall called Harry to have a word with her. "What's she got to do?" Ron asked and Harry simply shrugged.

Minerva's office/headmistress study
Harry had silently followed Minerva up the headmistress office before she turned to him and signalled him to sit on the chair that he had sat so many times.
"I just wanted to talk to you Harry, thank you, and give you something." Minerva said sitting in her chair. "Firstly, Thank You for saving this world and help us rebuild Hogwarts." She said and Harry nodded. "I saw you comforting Miss.Weasley and may have heard your conversation. Will you really leave your magic for her?" She asked. Though Harry had never discussed something like this with her, but he was surprised to find he was quite comfortable. "I don't think we are not 'soulmates', but if that's the case, I will willingly leave magic and the wizarding world if that means I can live with her." He answered, all the previous headmasters and headmistress didn't even tried to pretend sleeping. Minerva sighed. "That's true love" she said and smiled "you are a lot like Lily" she continued. Harry was shocked, he always heard he was like his father. "I am, ofcourse, not supposed to have favourites but your dad, Sirius, Remus, and your mum were my favourite students of that batch." She smiled as she allowed herself to drift in her memories. Harry smiled too, he liked learning about his parents and his Godfather and Remus too. "Lily never realised her feelings for James for a long time." She said. Harry laughed. "I had feeling for Gin-Ginny sice my second year, I just didn't realised it sooner." Harry said and sighed. Minerva got up, went to the shelf and took two trophies from it. "These two" she said keeping them safely on the table "were transfigured by James and Sirius...very intelligent, very gifted kids they were." Harry smiled as he took in the details of the cups. The first one had a stag made on it, with Prongs written beneath it, the second one had a big dog made on it with Padfoot beneath it. "You keep it." Minerva said suddenly. "No-no professor, you kept it safe for so many years-" he began but Minerva cut between him. "Keep it Potter" she said in her usual authorised voice and Harry silently took the two trophies. "Why don't you read this letter sent me by James? I was like a friend to him and Sirius." She said handing out a letter from the drawers. Harry took it and carefully opened it.
Dear Minnie,
Lily finally accepted her feelings for me!! You were right! She had feelings for me! Sirius think I gave her love potion though. She kissed me around and hour ago!! Well there's party in the common room, please come and join us.
Sincerely,
James.
"Minnie?" Harry asked looking at the messy handwriting. "Oh yeah, those two used to call me Minnie, not in classes though, in detentions. Those two were the life of all the fun in Hogwarts joined by Remus, Pettigrew was always the sidekick." She said and smiled softly. "They were soon followed by Fred and George than you three always fall in trouble, you won't believe but we used to put on bets upon your there's missions in the staff room." She said and Harry smiled, he hadn't seen her teacher genuinely happy manier times. After a long talk about old times, Minerva checked his watch and told Harry to leave as it was getting late. She signed a paper to make sure he doesn't get in trouble for being out of Gryffindor common room at night.
"Good Night....Minnie" Harry said leaving the office. She smiled and said "You, Ronald and Hermione are allowed to call me that." and Harry left.

Girls Dormitory
(The sentence italicized is what Ginny is thinking.)
Ginny was sitting at her bed looking at a photo of hers and Harry. A strand of hair fell in her face and he imagined Harry placing it behind her ear. She smiled to herself.
Harry is someone special. I would get so irritated when Dean used to do it. It's like only Harry can do it without getting me irritated.
Are we really soulmates? She asked herself. Ofcourse! He keeps you happy and loves you so much, siriusly Ginny, the two of you have something different. She answered herself and smiled.
Micheal just kept me irritated all the time and Dean was romantic but not as much as Harry, Harry was different from all, not because he was 'The Boy Who Lived Twice' but because of his attractive personality.
Romilda Vane was talking with Parvati in a corner "ofcourse Harry is my soulmate...the way he looks at me." She said. "He doesn't even look at you." Hermione said, entering in the room. Romilda gave Hermione an I-will-kill-you stare, but the girl ignored her and came and sat next to Ginny.
"Thinking about Harry?" She asked softly to her bestfriend. Ginny nodded. "Don't worry, he is your soulmate." She said reassuringly.
Meanwhile in Boy's Dormitory
Dean, Seamus and Neville were fast asleep when Harry entered the room. Ron, Harry supposed was in the bathroom. Harry went near his trunk and took out the photo frame Mr. and Mrs. Weasley had given him. He stared at her and whispered "I love you Ginny, please be my soulmate!" "Thinking about my sister, mate?" Ron asked sitting beside him on his bed. Harry nodded, a year escaping his eyes on the thought of being separated from her. "Aww, now don't cry love bird!" Ron said making Harry smile.
Later That Night
"Ginny- I love you and you will be my soulmate for sure..." Harry heard Dean mutter in his sleep. He wanted to wake him up and knock life out of him for saying that, but Harry remained still in bed, fears of loosing Ginny closing in on him.
