The Burrow was a nice little house at first glance, but when you came to clean and decorate it, you would realize just how big it was.
This was the exact case with Harry.
As it was the first Christmas after the war, Mrs.Weasley wanted the house clean, like it was at Bill and Fleur's wedding.
After a long tiring day, Harry collapsed in an armchair. Soon, he was joined by Ginny, tired as hell.
"Hey." She said tiredly.
"Hello." He replied weakly.
Harry opened his arms, "Come here."
Ginny let herself fall in his arms as they wrapped comfortably around her.
They sat there, like that, snuggling close to each other.
As her head slipped off his shoulder, he looked down to find her drifting off to sleep.
He smiled to himself, adjusting his position so she could sleep peacefully.
He was in awe that he would be married to the absolute queen resting in his arms by next Christmas.
He hadn't thought of his future before the war, not really. Because at that time, he didn't even know if he would survive. Now too, he wasn't sure of his future, but was sure that Ginny would be in it.
A few minutes later, he found himself dozing off.
It was after 30-45 minutes when Mrs.Weasley called everyone for dinner.
"Gin?" he said sleepily, "Wake up, dinner is ready."
"A minute more." She replied, snuggling more into him.
He yawned, "Take your time, sweetheart."
5 minutes later, they were at the dining table, joined by everyone else.
They talked about many random things, all excited for Christmas Eve but all Harry wanted to do was sleep.
After dinner, he realised that now that they were back at the Burrow, he would no longer share a bed with Ginny.
He gave her a long tender kiss as they parted for the night.
Even after being tired, he found himself not able to sleep. Twisting and turning in the four poster across Ron's, he only thought about Ginny.
A sudden urge to hold something filled him. Taking the pillow from under his arms, he held it near his chest.
"Since when did you start sleeping with a pillow?" Ron asked him with an amused tone.
Harry looked at his best friend, then at the small clock by the table and then back at him. It was very well past midnight and Ron should have been asleep by now.
"Since I started sharing a bed with your sister." Harry mumbled, "I miss her, can't sleep without her."
Ron chuckled, "A fool in love."
Harry smiled, "And why are you awake?"
Harry could see a glint in Ron's eye, "Same reason as yours, can't sleep without Hermione." Ron answered.
He chuckled, turning again.
Thoughts of her swarmed him and he was about to fall asleep when he heard the door creak open.
He looked over his shoulder to find Hermione sneaking in.
He allowed himself to go back to thoughts of her.

Everything was white, then there was a flash of green, a scream, and darkness.
Harry sat up in the bed, his eyes snapping open. His heart was racing from the rare nightmare.
He got up, taking off his nightshirt that was drenched in cold.
Thankfully, he hadn't made any noise, Ron and Hermione were still asleep.
He paced around the room, trying to steady his breath.
It was terrible, and at no cost did he want to recall it.
He sat back on the bed, thinking about good memories.

The next morning, when he went down the stairs, he found Ginny asking her mother something.
"Can Harry sleep in my room? I need him near, mum." He heard her say.
"Elaborate."
"Well, I simply had a terrible night yesterday." Ginny provided.
Harry decided it was time to intervene.
"Sorry to intervene," Harry said, "But I too had a really terrible and restless night."
"But what about Hermione?" Mrs. Weasley reasoned.
"She snuck into our room last night." Harry answered.
Mrs. Weasley nodded.
"I'll talk with Arthur."
And with that, she left.
Ginny hugged him tightly. "I missed you so much."
"I did too." He said soothingly, "What happened?"
"Nightmares" Ginny whispered.
"The same goes for me."
They chuckled, looking at each other.

Mrs.Weasley called them in the kitchen some time later and told them it was all well if they shared a room, they were engaged after all.
"...Just no funny business." She said.
