07. Sectionals

"I bet we get stuck with Mr. Sinacori as our sectionals advisor," Artie theorized.

"Oh, the creepy math teacher?" Tina questioned.

"He's always singing when he walks down the halls," Kurt said.

"It'll probably be Ms. Pillsbury," Melanie mused. "I mean, he brought her in to judge the mash-off. He'll probably see if she can help out now too."

"Hey, guys," Rachel greeted as she entered the choir room. "Did any of you think it was weird the way that Puck rushed to Quinn's aid during rehearsal yesterday?" she asked, referring to their previous glee club rehearsal where Quinn slipped.

"Is it the baby? Is it coming?" Finn asked, kneeling next to her, panicked. 

"I think we're supposed to get hot towels," Puck suggested, hurriedly kneeling on her other side.

"Would you both just shut up!" Quinn yelled. "There's like sweat on the floor. I slipped, okay, I'm fine," she continued, opting to ignore both boys' attempts to help her up and instead taking Melanie's outreached hand, who had walked to the pregnant blonde as soon as she fell.

The others eyed each other nervously, thinking back on the interaction.

"No," Mercedes drew out. 

"I mean, he likes her. I mean, they're friends. We all know that," Artie added, almost slipping up.

"Yeah, but it seemed like more than that," Rachel continued. "I've never told you guys this before, but I'm a little psychic. I can't read minds or anything yet, but I do have a sixth sense. Something is definitely going on there," she finished.

"Uh, we... we gotta go," Mercedes said abruptly, prompting the others to follow her lead.

"We have to practice," Rachel said. 

"Oh, and we will, as soon as Mr. Schuester names a faculty advisor to replace him," Kurt said, following Mercedes out the door, Tina, Melanie, and Artie following close behind.

"It's nothing to be scared of," Rachel voiced. "I mean, it's not like 'Carrie' or anything," she added, thinking she scared the group off.

Melanie walked down the hall with Mercedes as Mercedes made an emergency call. "She's onto it," Mercedes stated, holding the phone to both of their ears.

"I know, it's really freaking me out," Tina said, walking up next to Mercedes and Melanie. "Hold up... Artie's buzzing in, I'm going party line," she added.

"Dudes, this is serious. If she finds out, she's going to tell Finn. She's a total trout mouth," Artie stated.

"Kurt wants in," Tina said, handing her phone to Kurt. 

"I say we lock Rachel up until after sectionals," Kurt suggested through the phone. "I volunteer my basement," he added.

"We can't, we need her to sing," Melanie added. 

"Damn her talent," Kurt cursed.

"We just heard who told," Santana said, buzzing in.

"We assumed it was you," Artie said.

"Why would I do that?" Santana questioned. 

"To get back at Puck? Aren't you guys dating?" Kurt replied.

"Sex is not dating," Santana stated. 

"If it were, Santana and I would be dating," Brittany added absentmindedly, causing Mercedes and Melanie to halt.

"Look, I don't wanna rock the boat since Quinn got pregnant; I'm top dog around here," Santana continues. Melanie nudged Mercedes, pointing out the short Jewish girl heading their way.
