"Thank the Lord! And I said to myself, sit down, Said to myself, sit down, Sit down, you're rockin' the boat! Sit down, I said to myself, sit down, Said to myself, sit down, Sit down, you're rockin' the boat!" Kurt, Artie, Tina, Mercedes, and Rachel sang in perfect harmony, dancing in a line as they demonstrated the first song they had ever performed in Glee practice.

"And the Devil will drag you under by the scarf in back of your checkered coat!" They sang, moving their arms dramatically up and down.

"Sit down, sit down, sit down, sit down, Sit down, you're rockin' the boat!" The group bent their knees, striking a pose with their chins resting on their fists, one leg crossed over the other.

Melanie laughed, a bright smile spreading across her face. Watching the semi-ridiculous and wonderfully old-school routine.

"Sit down, you're rockin', sit down, sit down, sit down, You're rockin' the boat! Sit down, you're rockin', sit down, sit down, sit down, You're rockin' the boat! Sit down, you're rockin' the boat!" The group circled Artie before finishing in a straight line, striking jazz-hand poses to cap off the performance.

The room erupted into laughter and applause, the rest of the group thoroughly entertained.

"That was the most ghetto number I have ever seen," Santana quipped with a smile.

"Then just call me George Jefferson, because we went from the ghetto to the penthouse. National champs, baby!" Artie replied, raising his hands triumphantly as everyone cheered.

The excitement quieted as Mr. Schue entered the choir room silently, his presence instantly commanding their attention. He walked to the whiteboard and wrote a single word in bold letters: GOODBYE.

"This week's assignment is easy," he began, turning to face the group. "Graduation is just a few days away. There's nothing left to prepare for. Our work here is done, so there's only one thing left to do: Say goodbye. Underclassmen, pick some songs to say goodbye to the seniors. Seniors, pick a song to say goodbye to us."

Sam noticed Melanie's sigh and gave her hand a reassuring squeeze. She turned to him with a small smile, silently appreciating the gesture.

Melanie made a decision in that moment: she wasn't going to cry, and she wasn't going to dwell on the changes ahead. Instead, she was determined to stay positive and make the most of her final week with half her friends.

"A part of me wants to lock these doors and stay in here with everyone forever," Mercedes said with a sad smile.

"We can use the wastebasket for the toilet," Brittany offered, entirely serious, "and then we could eat Joe for food since she's been here the shortest, so we know her the least."

Joe gave Brittany a slightly offended look, and Melanie chuckled, shaking her head. She was really going to miss Brittany's random, crazy comments.

"I really hope you're about to rap," Quinn teased, raising a brow as Mr. Schue grabbed a guitar.

"Please, no," Melanie muttered under her breath, making Rachel stifle a laugh behind her hand.

"No such luck," Mr. Schue said with a grin. "I'm leading by example here. This one is for you guys."

Here's the polished version of your text, with improved grammar, spelling, formatting, and flow. I've aimed to make it engaging and descriptive without overusing "said" or similar words:

"Oooh," Mr. Schue sang softly, his voice gentle as he began strumming his guitar. Artie leaned his head on Mercedes' shoulder, and she smiled down at him.
