67. Smoke

The heroes, Flug and Demencia watched how I tried to take off the top hat. Despite his capability to stretch the hat remained on my head.

"What do you think you are doing?" asked Black hat curious.

"What do you thnk? I want you off my head"

"Good luck by that...by the way...youre getting attacked"

"Huh?" was the only reply I can give until a fist hits my head. The impact was enough to make me fly a few feet till I hit the ground. Flug could stop him from going further.

Cursing under my breath I asked black hat what his big deal is. He just replied that he wants me to be more myself.

"Myself? MYSELF?!"

Furious I reached for the hero and grabbed him with large shadow hands.In a blink of an eye he was turned around and buried head first in the ground. Flug and everybody else watched how his feet twitched from suffocating.

"You learn fast..." said black hat amused.

Worried I pulled on the heroes feet to help. Black hat mumbled, "...only to step back the next. Darling you are making yourself a fool."

"You took advantage of my thoughts! I don't want him to die!"

"When your life is at stake you are ready to be bad. The moment you see your actions, you try to save what tried to kill you in the first place."

I said to him that I don't want ot be part of his game and tried once more to get the hat off.

"My love you are despicable."

"Speak for yourself!"

The rest of the people watched how I kept on making conversaions with myself. Flug and Dem are the only ones that realize that this is not the case.

Black hat got annoyed, "Darling, do you still want to continue this pathetic act? "

"As long as you are tempering with my mind...YES!"

Thankfully my performance got boring over time and the heroes began to attack Flug and Demencia. Unaware that someone arrived on the scene, heading my way.

"Y/N!"

Looking up Glod heart appeared.

Black hat sounded amused, "Look your knight in shining armour is here."

The hero kept a distance once he noticed the top hat, "We need to talk...alone."

"Alone?" I asked puzzled.

"Alone?" said black hat now even more amused.

"Your husband has to stop this madness and turn off the shields."

I narrowed my eyes, "Heroes attacked the Island, so who is the madman?"

"Fine I get it. We are all in the wrong. But the children shouldn't be part of this game. Let them go".

"Children?" I forgot all about them, asking Black hat if that was an exception. Knowing him he would refuse it. That is way to obvious that this was...

"Sure..."

...wait what?!

"Come again?" I asked shocked.

Glold heart raised a brow while Black hat just replied, " Northside will be open for ten minutes...you better hurry Mr. Hero."

I gave him the news and over his shoulders he saw the massive hole in the shield.

"Where is he Y/N?"

He was furious to see that my husband heard him. Black hat just said happily that he is right here, but only for me to hear him.

"Does it matter? You got ten minutes. Save the children!"

Gold heart gave green light for the team to proceed the rescue, seeing several helicopters fly up with a massive net. Thousands of children were hanging on it for dear life as they reached the hole. To my surprise Black hat kept his promise and lets them go. To get all of the children out of danger they had a few more smaller nets to get them out. A risky move as most helicopters could not handle the weight and flew low. Gold heart thanked me for this while Black hat replied happy, "Your welcome."

He must be up to something that was way too nice.

But he just chuckled. Gold heart stepped forward, "Y/N, please help me stop this butchery."

"Wasn't this enough?" said black hat annoyed, "You give a hero one finger and the next they take the whole arm...typical."

"I can't stop this. He won't let me." I said feeling hopeless.

"I thought you were still good. The Y/N I know wouldn't back down."

"After all I been through you still have the audacity to criticise my actions?! Look around!" This whole plan was not planned by me and still get blamed for it.

"You're his wife...you are part of this."

"So are you...Mr. Want to-be hero." It was painful to say this but I couldn't hold back. Black hat loved this, hearing him eat something crunchy. I would love to smack him right now but I wasn't sure where he is right now.

Gold heart didn't comment on this, at least not for a few minutes, "..You're right..." he bowed down, "...I am not a real hero...not now..." he wants to make it right and flew up in the sky, "I prove to you that I will be a real hero."

"What a suck-up" spat Black hat.

"Thank you" I said lightly.

"What?!" I heard some snacks drop "You thank him?!"

Gold heart left me alone with my husband who was beyond furious. To his annoyance I had no bad thoughts he could control to take that hero down. Looking at the others fight I noticed something in the distance. Smoke...the woods were on fire. Because of the shield it had no chance to escape. Any longer and we all could die of this.

"What a kill joy" mumbled Black hat.

"Who? Gold heart?"

"This good-for-nothing hero is too pathetic to kill anyone. No this is someone who is far more evil than that...pitty that this isn't you."I didn't comment on this, knowing it would only entertain his wicked mind.

But he was right on one thing, the one causing this was down right evil.

Gold heart had also noticed the massive fire and saw the ones responsible. Abigail ordered her team to burn every tree, every house nearby to get the fire spread faster. Once the hero reached her she just stood there emotionless, like this wasn't a big deal.

"What is wrong with you?! You kill everyone on this Island!"

"That's the plan" said Abi with a blank stare.

"You changed the sides to become a hero, now you are even worse than Black hat himself!"

Abi clicked her tongue in response, "So what if I am taking down everyone in the process? No one will be alive to be a witness and the organisation got plenty of newbies to become heroes." Without a warning, a long blade impaled Gold hearts shoulder, "And for this we don't need heroes like you to get in our way."
