Y/n, trembling, walked out of their house. This place, which she and Taehyung had decorated together, was filled with their dreams and memories. It was their home. But now, she was leaving, probably never to return.
Her head was dizzy as she stumbled through the blocks of the locality, every step feeling heavier with the weight of her decision. The memories of their shared moments flashed through her mind, making her heart ache even more. This was supposed to be their sanctuary, but now it felt like a prison she had to escape from. She knew this might be the last time she would ever see this place.
She walked near the bus stop and sat down. Buses came and went, but she remained still and dizzy, her body wracked with pain, her stomach aching. Her mind raced as she tried to think of where to go. If she went to her parents' house, Taehyung would find her in no time. Then she remembered—the apartment she had bought before they got married. He didn’t know about it.
When the next bus arrived, she gathered her strength and got on, hoping it would take her far enough to escape, at least for now. As the bus started moving, she stared out the window, feeling the weight of her decision but knowing it was the only way to keep him safe.
Sitting in the bus, she sobbed silently, her tears streaming down her cheeks. Taehyung's mother's harsh words echoed in her mind: "This relationship is not okay. She's not human."
The image of Taehyung's face when he would realise she was gone haunted her. She could picture the pain, the confusion, the betrayal. Her heart ached knowing how deeply it would hurt him. Clutching her bag tightly, she tried to steady her breath, but the sobs came harder. She wiped her tears away, her resolve strengthening even as her heart broke. She had to do this—for him, for them. It was the only way to protect him from the danger her presence brought.
She entered her apartment and sat down on the floor, taking in the emptiness of the place—no furniture, nothing. The silence was soon broken by her loud cries, echoing off the bare walls. Trembling, she hugged herself and clutched Taehyung's hoodie, which she was wearing. His scent lingered, offering a fleeting comfort. Her whole body trembled, and the pain in her stomach was nearly unbearable.
As she sat there, her sobs gradually quieted, replaced by a hollow ache that seemed to permeate every corner of the apartment. She knew she had to pull herself together, but the weight of Taehyung’s absence and the harsh words from his mother crushed her spirit.
Her phone buzzed in her pocket, a rare moment of sound in the oppressive silence. With trembling hands, she pulled it out, expecting another message from Taehyung, but it was Jin. His messages were filled with concern and worry, urging her to come back, but she couldn't face them now.
She forced herself to stand, every movement sending waves of pain through her. She needed to rest, to think clearly, but the bare apartment offered no comfort. She managed to find a blanket and curled up on the cold floor, clutching Taehyung's hoodie tighter.
"I’m so sorry," she whispered into the fabric, her voice barely audible. "I never wanted this to happen. I just wanted to be with you."
As the afternoon approched, her thoughts grew more disjointed, fear mingling with exhaustion. The bus ride had drained her, and the emotional turmoil left her feeling hollow. Despite the pain and the uncertainty, sleep finally claimed her, her dreams filled with fragmented memories of happier times with Taehyung.
Evening brought no relief. She woke with a start, disoriented and aching. The emptiness of the apartment was a harsh reminder of her reality. She knew she couldn’t stay here long. They would find her eventually, and she didn’t want to bring more trouble to Taehyung.
