Author's Pov
Y/n slumped in her chair, feeling the weight of her friend Jina's persistent persuasion. She was having a full-on meltdown in this random coffee shop, wondering if she could handle working with a bunch of popular people.
"Seriously, Y/n. Just take the job," Jina insisted, her patience wearing thin. Y/n groaned, feeling overwhelmed.
"Jina, you know I've had bad experiences with famous folks!" Y/n whispered loudly, her frustration bubbling over. Jina just rolled her eyes, giving her friend a serious look.
"Then don't overthink it, easy peasy," Jina quipped sarcastically. "Look, you need this gig. And hey, you don't have to be besties with them. Just manage their schedules, do your thing, and boom! Job done."
Y/n sighed, slowly coming to terms with her friend's logic. "Fine, fine, sign me up."
Jina practically beamed with joy. Thanks to Jina's sister falling ill, leaving her unable to work, Jina had roped Y/n into stepping in as a replacement.
"Here's the company card. Head over there tomorrow, okay?" Jina passed the card to Y/n, who took it reluctantly but ultimately accepted.
After their conversation, they said their goodbyes. Jina rushed off to the hospital to tend to her sister, while Y/n made a beeline for the nearest convenience store to grab a snack for the journey home.
Y/n's POV
As I stood at the door, contemplating my inevitable fate, a chuckle escaped my lips at the absurdity of it all. Pushing open the glass door, I stepped into the convenience store."Ice cream sounds like the perfect distraction," I mused to myself, heading straight for the frozen treats. Amidst the rows of colorful cartons, I spotted a girl standing motionless, seemingly paralyzed by the choice between two flavors.
Her face obscured by a mask and bucket hat, her petite frame and long hair gave away her gender. I couldn't help but observe her dilemma
mint ice cream or mint with chocolate chips? Seriously? I thought to myself
"Sheesh, mint's not even tasty" I muttered under my breath, only to freeze as the girl suddenly responded.
"Excuse me?" Her voice caught me off guard. I turned, putting on my best innocent smile.
"You're excused," I replied, flashing a small grin as I moved aside to give her space. She eyed me with a hint of suspicion, prompting me to grab my own ice cream and make a swift exit, ignoring her gaze.
Stepping outside, I started my journey home, the taste of mint still lingering on my mind, along with the unexpected encounter with the indecisive ice cream shopper.
"What a weird girl," I chuckled to myself as I strolled home.
After what felt like an eternity, I finally reached my door, eager to unwind. But as soon as I stepped inside, I was greeted by a sight that could've been straight out of a sitcom - a random woman, arms crossed and looking ready to give me a lecture.
"Yah! Where have you been?" she bellowed, her expression a mix of annoyance and suspicion.
Caught off guard, I scrambled for an explanation. "Um, unnie, I just went to meet Jina-" I started, but before I could finish, she raised her hand as if she was about to give me a good smack!
Panicking, I blurted out the first thing that came to mind "She offered me a job!" I said, my voice cracking with nerves. I threw my hands up in a feeble attempt at a grand reveal. "Surprise!"
The woman's expression shifted from anger to bewilderment, her arms dropping to her sides as she processed the unexpected news. And just like that, my bizarre day took another unexpected turn.
