Chapter Thirty Three

They paused their argument midway, their eyes drifting to Y/n, who was peacefully asleep on the couch. A collective sigh of relief escaped their lips, grateful that Y/n was oblivious to their heated exchange. Still in the living room, the members shifted uncomfortably, their postures tense as they faced off against each other.

"Gosh, Minji, and here you are acting the good girl, as always," Hanni remarked, pushing Minji away from her. "Excuse me?"

Hanni and Minji locked eyes, their gazes filled with animosity.

"Haerin, why are you not speaking? Thought no one saw what you did to Y/n?" Haerin's brows furrowed as she glanced at Danielle, who smirked in response.

"Forgot that there are mirrors? Do you think staying quiet would save you?" Danielle's sarcastic tone cut through the air.

"Dani unnie, I told you guys, I was calming Y/n, I didn't do anything to her, I just hugged her–"

"Oh, stop it. You kissed her," Danielle interjected, her arms crossed as she rolled her eyes.

"So that's why Y/n looked off.." Minji muttered, realization dawning on her. Hyein sank onto the sofa, massaging her temple in frustration. "You're really a leech, aren't you, Kang Haerin–"

Minji's words were cut short by the sharp sound of a slap echoing through the room. Their eyes widened in shock, their breaths hitching as they watched Minji caress her cheek, her eyes blazing with anger as she glared up at Haerin.

"I am the leech now? Y/n is no one's at the first place," Haerin spat, her voice dripping with venom.

The tension in the room escalated as Minji's anger boiled over. "You don't get to play the victim here, Haerin. You know exactly what you did!"

Haerin shot up from the sofa, her eyes flashing with fury. "Oh, I know what I did, Minji. But do you remember what you did?"

Minji's expression darkened as Haerin's words hit her like a punch to the gut. "What are you talking about?"

Haerin took a step closer, her voice low and menacing. "You know exactly what I'm talking about. You always had to make me look bad in front of him, just so you could steal him away from me."

The room fell silent as the other members exchanged confused glances, unaware of the past between Minji and Haerin. Danielle's eyes widened with realization, while Hanni and Hyein watched on in shock.

Minji's hands clenched into fists at her sides, her jaw tense with pent-up rage. "That's ancient history, Haerin. It has nothing to do with this!"

Haerin's laughter rang hollow in the air. "Ancient history? It's as fresh as yesterday, Minji. You think I forgot how you betrayed me?" She then added, "Hanni unnie is right, you always act like you're the good girl,"

Haerin dropped her final remark, then settled onto the sofa. Hanni, feeling the tension rising, decided to break the ice.

"Alright, let's call it a night and pick this up later," Hanni suggested, sounding a bit tired but determined. The others agreed, realizing they needed a breather from the heated discussion.

Their attention turned to Y/n, still snoozing on the couch. Danielle pointed out Y/n's discomfort, so Hanni volunteered to lend a hand.

"I'll take Y/n to her room," Hanni offered, her tone firm yet gentle. Some hesitated, but Hanni was set on her plan.

Approaching Y/n with a soft smile, Hanni gently tapped her cheek to rouse her from sleep. Y/n blinked sleepily before offering a sweet response, her innocence bringing a moment of relief to the tense atmosphere.

"Wow..angel!" Y/n exclaimed throwing both of her hands up high, Hanni couldn't help but smile at how cute Y/n is.

"Y/n, let's get you to your room so you can rest," Hanni said, her tone filled with care and concern. Y/n nodded in agreement, her trust in Hanni evident as she allowed herself to be helped up.

As Hanni guided Y/n to her room, the others watched quietly. They saw Hanni tuck Y/n in, making sure she was comfy before saying goodnight.

When Y/n tried to change, Minji stepped in, finding her something more suitable to wear. With Y/n settled, the others dispersed, each lost in their thoughts about the night's events and the tension that still hung in the air.
