Y/n's POV
I smiled affectionately at my friend, and she returned the gesture.

"You sneaky devil, why didn't you tell me earlier?" I asked, struggling to contain my frustration in this public park. "Because I knew it would just make you more hesitant! You admitted they're gorgeous, so what's the harm in living with them?" she reasoned.

"What's the harm? Are you asking for a chokehold?" I replied, only half-jokingly. She raised her hands in surrender and took a seat on the bench.

"I'm sorry, okay?" she apologized with a sheepish smile. I sighed and sat down beside her, resigning myself to the inevitable.

"It's fine. I just wish you'd told me sooner so I could mentally prepare," I admitted, staring at the building nearby - the same one I'd likely be spending a lot of time in soon.

"I heard from my sister that Dani is the kindest," she suddenly remarked, catching me off guard. I furrowed my brows in confusion until she clarified, "Danielle."

"Oh, got it," I said, understanding. "Well, I have to agree. She was really friendly earlier, unlike the others," I recalled our earlier encounter at the meet and greet.

"There you go, that's a fresh start," she said, encouraging me. I playfully rolled my eyes, but then a thought struck me, furrowing my eyebrows.

"What's wrong?" she asked, noticing my expression.

"It's just... one of them looks familiar to me. Like I've seen that person before," I said, scratching my head as I tried to recall where I might have crossed paths with one of them.

"Whoa, look at you! Lucky ass, this is destiny," she exclaimed excitedly.

"Shut up," I replied, chuckling at her enthusiasm. After chatting and strolling for a while, we decided it was time to head home since it was getting late.

Arriving at my house, I was greeted by my sister lounging on the sofa, engrossed in something on TV. But then, the video she was watching caught my attention.

"Is that Newjeans?" I asked, curious. She nodded enthusiastically, but then her expression turned suspicious.

"How did you know? You've never asked about celebrities until now!" she exclaimed, catching me off guard.

I giggled, trying to play it cool. "Oh, they're the group I'll be managing-"

"What!?" she gasped in shock, jumping up from the sofa. I quickly started making my way upstairs, hearing her footsteps following closely behind. "Get me an autograph!"

I laughed and closed the door behind me, reflecting on what Jina had said earlier. Looks like managing this group might be even more interesting than I thought.

Author's POV

Five girls lounged on the sofa, each absorbed in their phones. Suddenly, one of them let out a frustrated groan.

"Minji Unnie, this is impossible. I can't find her social media," she lamented, causing Minji to shrug indifferently.

"I don't get why you're even looking for it," Minji remarked, barely looking up from her phone.

"It's because Danielle Unnie is creepy," the cat-eyed girl chimed in, pausing her scrolling to shoot a pointed look at Danielle.

"Well, I just want to add her!" Danielle pouted.

"I'll help you, Unnie!" exclaimed the girl seated beside Danielle, earning herself a delighted hug from Danielle.

"Thank you, Hyein-ah!" Danielle beamed, her excitement palpable. Meanwhile, one of their members remained unusually quiet, contrary to her usual lively self. Sensing the shift, the girls turned their attention to her. She glanced up from her phone, meeting their curious gazes.

"What?" she asked, feigning innocence.

"Why are you so quiet, Hanni?" Minji inquired, raising an eyebrow. Hanni shrugged nonchalantly.

"I'm just not in the mood. Besides, I don't like her," Hanni replied, causing the girls to focus on her with interest.

"For some reason, I feel like you've already met her because you're not usually like this with people you don't know," Danielle observed with curiosity.

"Well, it's true. We've actually met before," Hanni admitted, scrolling through her phone. Haerin looked at her, intrigued.

"Where?" she asked.

"At the convenience store. I was having a hard time choosing between mint ice cream or mint chocolate chip, and then she saw me and said, 'Mint's not even tasty.' Can you believe that?" Hanni recounted, but before she could finish, the other girls erupted into laughter.

"So, you don't like her because she insulted your favorite flavor?" Hyein managed to ask amidst her giggles.

Hanni glared at them and remembered Y/n's expression when she saw Hanni holding mint ice cream.
