Chapter Fifteen

Y/n's POV

"Ready to go?" I asked, glancing at the back. They all nodded their heads.

"Minji?"

"Here!"

"Hanni?"

"Present!"

"Danielle."

"Not here," Danielle replied, raising her hand. I couldn't help but giggle at her response.

"Haerin?" I called out next.

"What?" Haerin replied sleepily. I shook my head, giving her a reassuring smile.

"Our Hyein?" I playfully called out.

"Here! Very much alive!" Hyein responded, prompting laughter from all of us. With that, I started to drive off, my belongings placed in the passenger seat.

While on the road, my phone began to ring, but I couldn't reach it. Suddenly, Danielle leaned in and started looking for my phone. I glanced over and saw her searching.

"It says 'Sajang-nim'... should I answer it?" she asked. I nodded, and she slid the screen, quickly holding the phone to my ear. I smiled warmly at her, and she returned the gesture.

"Thank you," I mouthed to her before focusing on the call.

"Y/n, where are you and the girls?" came the voice on the other end.

"We're almost at the building, sir," I replied.

"Okay, okay. I have something to discuss with you after you drop the girls off in the dance room," he continued.

"Okay, copy, Sajang-nim," I confirmed. With that, I nodded at Danielle, signaling that the call had ended. She returned to her seat, making sure to fasten her seatbelt. I chuckled as I noticed she didn't give me back my phone; instead, she opened it and started scrolling through it.

This kid!

After finally arriving at the building, we wasted no time. I hurriedly got out of the car and opened the door for them, assisting each one of them as they stepped out of the vehicle.

"Go to the lobby first, I'll just get your things," I instructed, receiving nods of acknowledgment from the five girls. After retrieving their duffle bag and a bag filled with water and snacks, I walked from the parking lot to the building lobby.

Seeing them all seated and laughing together, I couldn't help but admire them. They noticed me and smiled before standing up. Together, we made our way to the elevator, and I pressed the button for the practice rooms floor.

Once we arrived, we walked down the hallway until we found their practice room.

"Here you go, girls," I said, opening the door for them and placing their belongings on the couch as they prepared their music. I was about to leave when someone grabbed my wrist, stopping me.

"Where are you going?" Hyein asked, sadness evident in her eyes.

"Don't worry, Hyein-ah. Sajang-nim just wants to talk to me," I reassured her. She smiled widely before nodding, joining the other members in the room. I didn't bother saying goodbye to the others; they needed to focus now.

As I made my way to Sajang-nim's office, I didn't prepare for what was to come. I smiled before opening the door, revealing Sajang-nim, who was smiling and clasping his hands together. He waved at me, and I noticed a girl sitting there, her back facing me.

When the girl saw Sajang-nim wave, she turned around, and I was stunned, not expecting to see her in person.

Why is she here?!

I stood in the doorway, feeling like reality had just slapped me in the face. Emotions swirled inside me, and I wasn't sure how to react. She stared at me, mirroring my own reaction.

"S-Sajang-nim, hello," I managed to greet, trying my best to focus and maintain professionalism. I closed the door and made my way to the couch, putting a professional distance between us.

"Hello, Y/n! You're just in time," Sajang-nim said with a wide smile.

"Y/n, meet Lee Ji-eun! Also known as IU," he continued, gesturing towards the girl sitting before me. Jieun was already smiling, but I resisted the urge to roll my eyes. I acted as if we hadn't met before.

"Jieun, meet Y/n! She's a very hardworking and good-looking manager of Newjeans," Sajang-nim introduced, pointing towards me. I nodded at Jieun but didn't bother to smile.

"Hi, Y/n! You probably know me; I'm also an idol but a soloist," Jieun said, smiling and offering her hand. I hesitated for a few seconds before accepting it.

"I called you here because Newjeans and Jieun will have a collaboration!" Sajang-nim announced.
