Chapter Thirty

Y/n's POV
The room echoed with the clinking of glasses as we toasted Newjeans' win in a plush private room at a fancy restaurant. Hyein, seated beside me, wasted no time in downing her drink in one impressive gulp, earning a mix of admiration and concern from the group.

"Hyein, easy there," Hanni joked, giving her a playful nudge. Hyein just grinned in response, clearly enjoying the moment.

"Hey, it's a celebration, right?" she quipped, shrugging off the warnings with a carefree attitude that was contagious.

The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement, the clinks of glasses and chatter filling the room. I found myself gazing at the swirling patterns in my drink, mesmerized by the dance of the alcohol.

"Don't worry, Y/n, have a drink. I'll make sure you get home safely," Hwajoo oppa reassured me with a reassuring smile. His words brought a sense of relief, and I returned his smile gratefully.

Meanwhile, Y/n was lost in the moment, enjoying her drink without a care in the world. Little did she know, the members were watching her with playful curiosity. Hanni's eyes sparkled as she licked her lips, silently admiring Y/n's carefree demeanor. And then there was Hyein, who noticed their look at Y/n, her mischievous grin widening as she leaned in closer to Y/n.

"Y/n, you smell amazing!" Hyein exclaimed, her voice filled with playful admiration as she edged closer to Y/n. Despite her slightly tipsy state, Y/n simply giggled, her shoulders lifting in a carefree shrug.

As Hyein leaned in closer, her playful teasing was evident in her tone. "Seriously, what perfume are you wearing? It's like a bouquet of flowers and sunshine, but with a hint of something... sexy."

Y/n, feeling the warmth of the alcohol coursing through her veins, couldn't help but chuckle at Hyein's antics. "Oh, just a little something I picked up," she replied coyly, casting a knowing glance at the other girls who were watching with a hint of jealousy.

Hyein's laughter filled the air, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Well, whatever it is, it's working," she teased, leaning in even closer. "Maybe you should share your secret sometime."

Y/n's cheeks flushed slightly at Hyein's words, but she didn't miss a beat. "Oh, I don't know if you can handle it, Hyein," she teased back, her voice dripping with playful tone.

Seeing this, Danielle, who was sitting beside Hyein, scoffed and rolled her eyes. She couldn't believe that their youngest member would be so bold with their manager. Admittedly, she felt a twinge of jealousy as she watched Y/n, who seemed too tipsy to act professional.

Minji did her best to ignore Hyein's advances, reminding herself that they were just teasing like siblings. Meanwhile, Hanni, gripping her glass tightly in jealousy, managed to force a smile as she talked to one of the managers. It was hard to focus when the person you liked was having a great time without you.

At this point, Y/n is now drunk, and it didn't go unnoticed by the members. Hwajoo just laughed at this thinking Y/n is probably going through something.

"Y/n, I think you're drunk," Haerin said, looking at Y/n with a hint of amusement.

Y/n raised her hands in a shaking motion. "No, I am not, pretty woman," she slurred, causing Haerin to blush slightly. It seemed that
drunk Y/n meant flirty Y/n, and Haerin wasn't sure how to handle it.

Haerin chuckled softly, her cheeks flushed. "Well, drunk or not, you're definitely full of surprises, Y/n."

Y/n grinned, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "Oh, you haven't seen anything yet, Haerin. Just wait until I really let loose."

Hearing this, Hyein leaned in closer, her tone playful. "Careful, Y/n. You might give Haerin a heart attack with all your surprises."

Y/n laughed, feeling the warmth of the moment. "Wouldn't want that, now would we? Though I can't promise anything when I'm in this state."

The laughter erupted for a few moments, but Hwajoo, glancing at his watch, noticed that it was getting late.

"Girls, I think we should head home now. I'll drive you guys home since Y/n here seems a little drunk," he said with a chuckle. The girls nodded in agreement and gathered their things. They made sure to say goodbye to the other staff before heading out to the van.
