Two Worlds Apart

Chapter 67

"So this is it....My first day at work" I say to myself, trying my possible best to remain composed because I was starting to get nervous

"First day as MFE's new fashion designer.... MFE's new...fashion designer" That sounded both exciting and really scary

What if I mess something up?

What if I don't fit in?

A lot of what ifs kept running through my mind, making me more nervous than I already was but I was trying my best not to lose my composure. I took in a deep breath and picked up my purse

"Time for work"

I hurried out my apartment and down the stairs. Tom stood patiently by the car, waiting for me

"Hi Tom, good morning"

He opens the car door for me "Good morning Miss Courtney" he cheerfully said as I go into the car

We're on our way to MFE

"Miss, you've been here for almost 20 minutes now" Tom pointed out

I gulped, I suddenly became nervous

"I know Tom, it's just.... it's my first day and I'm so scared"

"You'll do great Miss Courtney"

I felt a little bit better but I knew I had to go in sooner or later so I just pushed the door and walked in

"Holy shit" I whispered

My eyes widened at the beautiful sight in front of me, MFE was beautiful

"It's so much better in person" I whispered in complete excitement. I looked at the staffs as their walked past in their cooperate flashy outfits, looking like super models, everyone looked so good.

"Excuse me, can I help you?" I heard a sassy voice behind me

I turned around to see a blonde girl at the area I would assume was the reception. She looked at me with a raised brow, her hair styled in big curls and her skin glowing like she just exited a spa

"Oh I'm sorry, good morning. I'm looking for Miss Brandon"

She looked at me up and down "Miss Brandon isn't in, do you have an appointment?"

"N..No I don't but..."

"You can't see Miss Brandon without an appointment"

"No no, it's not like I necessarily have to meet her, I'm a new staff here" I explained

She frowned "sorry?"

I nod

"You? Here?"

I nod again

"There's no way, what's your name?"

I was just about to talk before a male voice came from behind me

"Courtney Jones, new fashion designer for MFE"

I turned around to see Clinton. He walked up to us with his hands in his pants pocket, looking so good to mistake as the CEO of the company

"Hi Courtney" he smiled at me

"Clinton...Hi" I smiled back

The receptionist looked at both of us with total confusing in her eyes

"Clint, are you serious? She was the one I spent days running a staff file for?"

He nods then places an arm around my shoulder "isn't my new partner pretty?" He turned to me with a smile then back to the blonde

She had a completely annoyed expression on her face and I couldn't help the smile on mine
