Two Worlds Apart

Chapter 112

The night was about to end earlier than I wanted....even though it's literally past 9 and we've been out since 7.

We're already on our way to my house and we can't help but talk through the car ride.

"Oh come on, that's just mean" I say to him

"She was dragging a spot with Gloria, Gloria of all people" he points out "I'm not dropping Gloria for someone I barely know"

I pout "I guess you can't. That was too much though, why would she be jealous of Gloria?"

He shrugs as he takes a turn into my neighborhood "She's not the first, Theresa was also like that. I understand her but the way she went about it wasn't right"

I place my hand on his shoulder "it's alright, everything will be fine"

He sighs "I hope so. Come to think of it, I was curious about you and your partner"

I frown "partner? Wait Clinton?"

"I was just....are you guys now a couple or what?"

I couldn't help but chuckle "Are you jealous, Eric?"

He tries to play it off "it's not that I am, it's just.... "

"If you're not, then there's no need to tell you" I shrug

He stays quiet for a while "and if I was?"

"Are you?"

We immediately arrive at my house which mind him avoid my question.

"You're stalling"

"It's getting really late" he looks at his watch and I chuckle a bit, picking up my purse.

"Goodnight, Eric. Thanks for dinner" and I step out, heading into my house.

The living room was empty so I went into the bedroom and immediately Sophy sees me, she pulls me down to the bed

"Start talking. How did it go? Any kissing?"

"Are you insane?" I chuckle before taking off my shoe

"C'mon" she whines "Natalie and I have been waiting for you. She even slept off in the process of waiting"

I turn to my mini me who was fast asleep. I pull her shirt down, just staring at her beautiful sleeping face.

"I still love him, Sophia" I confess, softly speaking as my eyes were still focused on Natalie.

"I thought I had gotten at least some feelings out, but it's clear that even a little bit didn't go away"

She places her hand on my thigh "I know, Courtney. I know you never got over him, and distance was the solve anything" she says

"What do I do then?" I turn to her "I'm so confused"

"Did you tell him about Natalie?"

I hesitantly shake my head "I couldn't....I was so scared, and we were having fun, I didn't...I didn't know how to bring her up"

She let out a sigh, tapping my lap slightly "I know it's not easy, breaking that news won't be easy....but if you want anything with him, you have to let him know"

Almost immediately, Natalie starts to cry.

We turn our attention to her

"My mini me's awake" I say in my baby voice as I pick her up

"What's wrong, my love? Mum's here....relax"

Her sobs reduces slowly while I rocked her back and forth.

"Where you waiting up for mummy? What's even the time"

I look around for my phone

"Past 9 I guess, my phone is in the living room"

"Where's mine?" I couldn't find my phone

"It's right here"

I feel all the blood in my body freeze up as Sophy and I immediately turn to the room door.

Sophia let out a gasp both of us flying up to our feet

Eric takes one step into the room, his eyes glued to Natalie who was in my arms

"Can someone...please explain....what I just heard"
