Chapter 75

"What'd you think about this?" Clinton hands Morgan a sketch

She observes it for a while "I like the top, but don't like the bottom" she puts it on table

"How about this?" I hand her one

She looks at it "I don't like the shoulders, too plain" she puts it down

I sigh "Morgan, that's the 6th style you're rejecting."

"Yeah" Clinton chimed in "what exactly do you want for these designs?"

She sighed "guys, you know this is our 10th anniversary....I just need it to hit big. I need outfits with never seen before designs or never expected styles"

Clinton and I turn to each other before letting out sighs

"C'mon guys" Morgan said

"I know what you're saying and we get it" I said

"We'll see what we can do Morgan"

Morgan nods before getting up "we have a meeting now, so we have to get going"

"I'll tell Tom to get the car ready" Clinton heads out

I stand to my feet and grab my things

"You know your maternal leave is closing up, right?"

I look up at Morgan "Yeah, I know. I can work from home, right?"

She thought for a while "only for the fashion show. We're still a few months away. Once we've concluded on the designs and gotten the fabrics needed....you'll be able to leave and you can make the outfits from home. You'll only be able to do any other work when you're back"

Don't know if I should be happy to sad about that

I nod and finish up with my things before we both head out.

We arrive at a magazine company where the meeting was to be held. It was one of of the most popular and influencial magazine brand in New York and apparently they wanted to release a fashion magazine and wanted to partner with us as one of the fashion brands for their magazine.

We head into the building and up the stairs, all the way to the meeting room.

"Mr Collins" Morgan greets the CEO with a smile and a hand shake

"Miss Brandon" he greets back "it's so lovely to have you here. Please do have a seat you all"

We all take our seats

"It's a pleasure to meet the designers behind MFE. You're welcome Miss Jones and Mr Wells, I'm happy that we'll be partnering together"

"Let's not be too heisty, Mr Collins. I understand that you're about to publish what you call 'the most engaging Fashion line' magazine this season"

"Yes, we are and we want MFE's designs as the front cover and also inside the magazine of course"

Morgan raises a brow "We haven't launched any new designs lately, what do you want to showcase?"

Mr Collins cleared his throat "well Miss Brandon, we were thinking we could use the outfits for your upcoming fashion show"

Clinton and I look at each other before turning to the man

"Excuse me?" Morgan frowned

"Just listen. This season's magazine is going to be one of the best and the most engaging magazine this year and we're scouting for only the best fashion brands. We're aware that your formal designs and everything you've designed up on till now has been showcased in MFE's magazine already....."

"Then you should know that MFE's fashion show outfits only goes into MFE's magazine" she cuts him off

"Miss Brandon" one of the members speak up "Putting pictures and write ups of your outfit into our magazine won't only benefit us but will benefit you too, your outfits would boom faster"

Morgan stays quiet for a while "We are in May, Mr Armstrong. Your magazine is to be published in two months, which is in July and MFE's fashion show is in October. Why in God's name would I allow you showcase those designs even before the show? What's the benefit of the show then?"

"Miss Brandon, we didn't ask for all 5 or 6 vip designs, just two or three would be fine" Mr Collins speaks

"Wait, you want the VIP outfits?" Clinton finally speaks up

Mr Collins chuckles "What other design would we want?"

Morgan slowly pushes her chair backwards

"Mr Collins, it was nice talking to you....but unfortunately we can't come to an agreement. I hope you find another brand, do have a nice day"

And that was our que to leave. Clinton and I get on our feet and we all walk out the room.
