"ouch!" I drop the pot lid

I hear a sigh "Stop hurting yourself this lady"

I turn to Sophy on my phone "I didn't think it'd be that hot"

"Courtney it's literally been on the fire for 1hr" Jeff chimed

I pout and turn back to the pot "meanies"

"I heard that" Sophy chuckled

"Good"

I close the pot and pick up my phone

"So when are you leaving work? You know you're like 7 months gone" Sophy asked

I sighed and take a seat "I don't really know. A lot has been happening because of the fashion show. We haven't approved any outfit yet.... okay we've approved two but I need to help Clinton sort that out because I leave"

"Understandable" Jeff said "but your baby's health is most important. If it's taking too much time, you'll have to leave"

I sure as hell can't do that so I'll just accept for the fun of it

"Alright, I'll try"

A grin forms on Sophy's face "so we have two good news for you, Courtney"

I frown "really? What could that be... you're grinning like a doll"

Her smile drops and I laugh out "I'm sorry.... alright what's the good news"

She grins again "firstly, Mr Martinez increased Jeff's salary by 20%"

I raised my brows "are you for real? Eric did that"

"Yesss!" She was so excited and I could see the excitement on Jeff's face too

"Oh my God, I'm so happy for you. That was so wonderful of him" a smile formed on my face

"That's not even the best part!" Sophy squeals

I sit up straight "you have me on the edge of my seat, Sophy"

She chuckles before stylishly tucking her hair behind her ear, showing off her......

"Engagement ring!!!" I stand to my feet

"Yessss! Jeff proposed last night at dinner"

My jaw drops and I turn to Jeff

"Jeffrey, are you for real?"

He shrugs with a smile "the ring says it all" then he chuckles

I couldn't help but let out a scream "I'm so so happy for you. Oh my God it's so beautiful....pull that diamond closer!"

She laughs before pulling her hand closer to the screen. I placed my hand over my mouth and didn't even realize that my eyes had started getting watery

"Oh no" I said softly, fanning my face "pregnancy hormones" I chuckle as the tears started rolling down

"Oh, Courtney" Sophy said softly with a pout "You'll make me cry" her voice started breaking

"I can't help it" I keep fanning myself "my emotions are messed up" I chuckle, wiping my face "but I'm insanely happy for you guys, sincerely"

"I really wish you were here, Courtney" she sniffles "I'm so not doing any wedding without you so get your butt her as soon as you can"

I chuckle and wip the last tear "of course I'll show up. You're not permitted to plan anything with me"

We both chuckle

"But Jeff, what about your mum though? Will she be okay with this?" I asked him

"She doesn't really have a choice in this. If she wants me to be happy, she doesn't have a choice" he shrugs
