Two Worlds Apart

Chapter 52

Courtney's POV

I laid comfortably on Eric's extremely soft bed with no intentions of getting up anytime soon. I knew it was around 9am or so, but I had nothing to do so I just made the best of this opportunity.

I hear the room door close but I still didn't open my eyes. I suddenly feel light kisses that ran from my cheek to my shoulder

I do a little whiney voice before opening my eyes slowly and turning my head to look at the handsome smile on Eric's face

"Good morning" he said calmly

"Good morning" I replied before slowly seating up and letting my eyes adjust to the brightness

After it adjusted, I noticed him wearing a suit

"Work... really"

He shrugs and stands straight "you know I have to go to work"

"Can't you relax? Take a day off, spend sometime with your girlfriend" I tell him and he opens his mouth to speak but soon shuts it

"I honestly have a lot of things to do, I have to go check how the hospital project is coming up, as well as showing up at Crystals to see how everything's going around there. I also have about 4 meetings to attend and...."

He stops when he notices the blank expression on my face

"I'm really sorry, I promise...."

I stop him and say "no promises" before taking off my glasses, standing up and walking past him to the bathroom

"Courtney" I turn around and stick my tongue out at him before closing the bathroom door behind me

I know he has to work and all, but I'm bored, the sooner I get a shop, the better because recently, I've been having close to no orders and it's really depressing me

I didn't hear any sound In the bedroom and I just brush my teeth and wash my face before stepping out to see him seating on the bed waiting for me

I fold my arms and look away, why hasn't he gone already if he wanted to leave

He sighs and gets up, talking steps towards me and stopping just a feet away

"You can stay over and I promise I'll be back early" I scoff and remain as I am

He sighs again with his hands in his pants pocket"alright what do you want?"

I turn to him snd drop my hands "I want you to stay, it's not that difficult, just today and I promise I won't bug you about skipping work again"

He was just about to speak when his phone went off and he picked it up

"Hello?"

I just lean backwards waiting for him to finish

"Yeah about the meeting by 10, with who again?"

You've got to be joking

"Oh yeah yeah" he looks at his watch "okay I'll...." He then looks at me

I just shrug and he heaves a sigh

"Jeff please can you just....cancel my meetings and appointments for today? Yes thank you" then he ends the call

A grin forms on my face, I did not believe that he'd do that

"Happy now" I stand straight and nod vigorously and envelope him in a hug

"I had better not regret this"

I look up at him and smile "you won't"
