Arianna
The afternoon sun was shining brightly, and I felt a sudden urge to get outside and breathe some fresh air. Hiding inside all the time wasn't doing me any good. I decided to reach out to Travis and see if he wanted to join me for a jog around the neighborhood.
I dressed quickly in gym shorts, a sports bra, and a hoodie, slipping on my sneakers. After tying my hair back into a ponytail, I grabbed my phone and texted Travis.
Arianna: Hey, want to go for a jog around the neighborhood? I could use some sunlight.
Travis: Sounds good. I'll meet you outside your place in ten.
I headed outside and stretched a little, enjoying the warmth of the sun on my face. A few minutes later, Travis jogged up, looking effortlessly athletic in his running gear.
"Hey," he greeted with a smile. "Ready to go?"
"Definitely," I replied, returning his smile. "Let's do this."
We started off at a comfortable pace, the rhythmic sound of our footsteps creating a steady beat. The fresh air felt invigorating, and for a while, we just jogged in companionable silence, taking in the sights and sounds of the neighborhood.
About halfway through the jog, I started to feel the heat of the sun beating down on us. Sweat trickled down my forehead, and the hoodie I was wearing felt increasingly stifling.
"Hold on a sec," I said, slowing down to a walk. "I need to take this off. It's getting too hot."
Travis stopped with me, giving me a quick smile. "Sure thing."
I pulled off the hoodie, revealing my sports bra underneath. As I tied the hoodie around my waist, Travis reached out.
"Here, let me hold that for you," he offered.
I hesitated for a moment, then handed it over. "Thanks, Travis."
"No problem," he said, draping the hoodie over his shoulder effortlessly.
We resumed our jog, the cool breeze against my skin a welcome relief. After a few minutes, Travis broke the silence.
"So, how's your music going?" he asked, genuinely curious.
I smiled, feeling a surge of excitement. "Actually, I wrote a new song recently. It's called 'Feather,' and it was inspired by my conversation with Zach."
Travis's eyebrows raised slightly. "Is that a good or bad thing?"
I laughed softly. "Definitely not a good thing. The conversation was awful. Zach was more concerned about how the scandal affected his brand deals than the fact that it hurt me."
Travis frowned, shaking his head. "He didn't deserve you, Arianna."
His words warmed my heart, and I felt a flicker of hope. "Thanks, Travis. That means a lot."
We continued jogging, the conversation making me feel more at ease. It was good to know that Travis valued our friendship as much as I did and that we could navigate this situation with open communication.
As we looped back towards my place, I felt a sense of accomplishment—not just from the exercise, but from having the conversation.
When we reached my house, we slowed to a stop, catching our breath. Travis handed me back my hoodie with a smile. "Thanks for letting me hold it," he teased lightly.
I laughed, taking it from him. "Thanks for being my hoodie carrier."
"Anytime," he replied, giving me a warm smile. "And remember, if you need anything, I'm here."
