 The summer had been a whirlwind, and while I loved every minute of performing for sold-out crowds, I couldn't help but feel a pang of longing. It had been three weeks since I last saw Travis. Before football season started he would come with me to shows. Now, with the North American leg of the tour just around the corner, I couldn't wait to see him again.

My pre-show routine was a blend of excitement and tedious preparation. I went through my vocal warm-ups, stretched my muscles, and took deep breaths to center myself. As I stepped out of my dressing room, I spotted Olivia Rodrigo, my incredible tour opener. She was a burst of youthful energy and raw talent.

"Olivia!" I called out, walking over to give her a hug. "You're going to kill it tonight. Good luck!"

"Thanks, Ari! You too!" she replied, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

I continued down the hallway towards the stage, where my band was already gathering. Theo Bennett, my British guitar player, stood off to the side with an cigarette in his mouth. It was his usual pre-show ritual—if it wasn't a cigarette, it was a blunt. 

"Ready for soundcheck?" I asked, giving him a playful nudge.

Theo nodded. "Always ready, love. Let's give 'em a show they won't forget."

We ran through soundcheck, making sure everything was perfect. The setlist was long—32 songs that I poured my heart into every night. Each song had a special place in my heart, and I couldn't wait to perform them again. After soundcheck, I went back to my dressing room to get ready for the show.
