Arianna
I woke up to the sound of my phone buzzing incessantly. Groggily, I reached over and saw several missed calls from my manager. With a sigh, I called her back, knowing this was probably about something urgent.
"Arianna, we need to talk," she said as soon as she picked up. "Travis needs to do media training. He can't just say whatever comes to mind. You have an empire to protect."
I groaned inwardly. "He doesn't need to do that. He's handling things just fine."
"Arianna, he's wild. You know that. He could say something that might hurt your career. This is serious."
"I'm not making him do media training," I said firmly. "He's not some rookie athlete who needs to be coached on what to say."
There was a long pause on the other end of the line. Finally, my manager sighed. "Fine, but if anything goes wrong, it's on you."
"Understood," I replied, feeling a bit of tension ease from my shoulders.
"We also need to figure out how to handle the album release," she continued. "Any ideas?"
I thought for a moment, an idea forming in my mind. "What about releasing tickets for the fans to hear the album live for the first time with me? We could do it at the LA Coliseum next Friday. That gives us about a week to plan things out."
My manager's tone brightened. "That sounds fantastic. Let's get to work on it."
After hanging up, I realized how deeply into the conversation I had been. I hadn't even noticed Travis waking up beside me. He gave me a sleepy smile as he stretched.
"Morning," he said, his voice husky from sleep.
"Morning," I replied, leaning in to kiss him. "How did you sleep?"
"Great," he said. "What's got you up so early?"
"Just some album release planning," I said, smiling. "I think we have a plan to do a live event at the LA Coliseum next Friday."
"That sounds amazing," he said, looking genuinely excited for me.
Just then, I heard the front door open, followed by my mom's voice. "Arianna, are you home?"
I jumped up, my heart racing. "Travis, go find a shirt. Now!"
He scrambled out of bed. I quickly pulled on some clothes and went to meet my mom.
"Mom, what are you doing here?" I asked, trying to keep my voice casual.
She looked at me with a soft smile. "I wanted to see you, honey. I haven't seen you in months. I miss you."
Guilt washed over me. I hadn't realized how long it had been since I'd seen her. "I miss you too, Mom. I'm sorry things have been so crazy."
She reached out and took my hand. "I also wanted to invite you and Travis to dinner tonight. Your father and I would love to see you both."
My heart skipped a beat at the mention of my father. Things had been tense since the incident with Zach. "Are you sure Dad wants to see us?"
She sighed, her expression softening. "I'm sorry about what your father said when the issue with Zach happened. He just wants to protect you. He'll be on his best behavior, I promise."
I hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Okay, we'll come to dinner."
"Great," she said, pulling me into a hug. "I can't wait to see you tonight."
As she left, I felt a mix of emotions. I was happy to see my mom but nervous about how dinner would go. I went back upstairs to find Travis, who was in the kitchen, making coffee.
