Stretching, I felt the familiar ache of exhaustion from the tour. Last night's show had been incredible, but the constant travel and performances were taking their toll. I reached for my phone, wanting to talk to Travis, but knowing he was probably still asleep. Instead, I sent him a quick text.
Text to Travis:
"Hey babe, give me a call when you wake up. Missing you."Knowing it would be a couple of hours before I heard from him, I decided to make the most of my morning. After a quick shower, I met my mom for breakfast in the hotel's cozy dining area. The smell of freshly baked croissants and strong coffee filled the air.
"Good morning, Mom," I greeted, giving her a quick hug.
"Morning, sweetie. How did you sleep?" she asked, concern etched on her face.
"Like a rock," I replied, pouring myself a cup of coffee. "I needed it."
We chatted over breakfast, enjoying the rare moment of normalcy. After eating, we decided to do some shopping. France had always been a special place for me, and I loved exploring the quaint boutiques and high-end stores.
As we walked through the streets, fans began to recognize me. I smiled and stopped to take photos, signing autographs and chatting with everyone who approached. Security kept a watchful eye, ensuring I wasn't overwhelmed.
"Thank you so much for coming to the show!" I told one young girl, who was nearly in tears with excitement.
As the crowd around me grew, my security team gently guided us away. "Alright, folks, let's give her some space," one of the guards said, ushering us back to the hotel.
Back in my room, I relaxed for a bit, scrolling through social media and reading messages from fans. I felt a pang of homesickness, missing Travis more than ever. My phone buzzed, and I saw his name on the screen. I answered immediately.
"Hey, Travis!" I said, feeling a rush of happiness.
"Hey, Ari. Sorry I missed your text earlier. How's France treating you?" Travis asked, his voice warm and soothing.
"It's beautiful, but I wish you were here," I replied, biting my lip. "I miss you."
"I miss you too, babe. How's everything going with the tour?"
"Good, but exhausting. I'm heading to the stadium soon for sound check. I just wanted to hear your voice before I go."
"I'm glad you called. I love you, Ari."
"I love you too, Travis. Talk to you later?"
"Absolutely. Break a leg tonight."
I hung up, feeling a bit more energized. I got ready and headed to the stadium, where I greeted the sound crew and my band, Theo who was tuning his guitar.
"Afternoon, Theo," I said with a smile.
"Morning, love. Ready to rock Paris?" Theo replied, flashing his usual charming grin.
"Always," I said, giving him a playful nudge.
We ran through the sound check, ensuring everything was perfect for the night's performance. I then went back to my dressing room to get ready, carefully selecting my outfits for the show.
As the night began, I watched the end of Olivia Rodrigo's performance from the side of the stage, clapping and cheering as she finished her set. "Great job, Olivia!" I called out, giving her a hug.
"Thanks, Ari. Knock 'em dead out there," Olivia replied, beaming.
My band and I got ready, and soon I was on stage, the crowd's energy electrifying me. The first part of the show went off without a hitch, but during my third outfit change, I realized my top wasn't tied all the way. Panic bubbled up inside me as I tried to keep singing while adjusting the top.
