Arianna
The day before the album release party had finally arrived, and I was a nervous wreck. Travis had to go back to Kansas City a few days ago, but he was coming back tomorrow, bringing Isiah, his friend Ross, and his mom with him for the listening party. I wanted everything to be perfect.
I spent most of the day in my music studio, going over all the tracks on the album with my music team. The pressure was immense, but I felt a surge of inspiration. I had an idea.
"Guys," I said, interrupting our session. "What if we added two more songs to the set list for tomorrow? Like an exclusive for those at the listening party?"
My producer raised an eyebrow. "What do you have in mind?"
I pulled out my music journal and showed them the lyrics for "Birds of a Feather" and "Teenager in Love." My producer's eyes lit up.
"These are fantastic, Arianna. Let's do it."
We recorded the songs, doing a few takes until we had the perfect versions. We added beats and melodies, refining the tracks until they felt just right. Listening back to the completed album, I felt a sense of accomplishment wash over me.
"We did it," I said, looking at my team. The clock showed it was nearly 2 AM. "Everyone go home. Thank you so much for your hard work."
As my team left, I felt a mix of exhaustion and excitement. The nerves were still there, but so was a sense of pride. I headed upstairs, noticing a text from Travis waiting for me.
Travis: For you, always.
I smiled, my heart fluttering. I texted him back and then called him on FaceTime. His face appeared on the screen, and just seeing him made me feel calmer.
"Hey," I said, my voice soft.
"Hey, beautiful," he replied, his grin infectious. "How's everything going?"
"I added two surprise songs to the album," I told him, excitement bubbling in my voice. "I think they complete it."
"I can't wait to hear them," he said, his eyes shining with pride. "You're amazing, Arianna."
I blushed, feeling the warmth of his words. "Thank you. I just hope everyone else loves it too."
"They will," he assured me. "You've poured your heart into this. It shows."
We talked for a while, catching up on everything. Travis filled me in on his time back in Kansas City, and how excited his mom was to finally meet me.
"She's been wanting to meet you for so long," he said, smiling. "I told her she's in for a treat."
I laughed, feeling a bit of the tension ease. "I hope she likes me."
"She'll love you," he said confidently. "Just like I do."
I felt my heart skip a beat. "Thank you for always believing in me."
"Always," he said softly. "Now, are you going to show me those songs, or what?"
I giggled, shaking my head. "You'll hear them tomorrow with everyone else."
He pouted playfully. "You're no fun."
"Goodnight, Travis," I said, smiling. "I'll see you tomorrow."
"Goodnight, Ari."
I climbed into bed, feeling a mix of anticipation and nerves for the next day. The album was complete, and tomorrow, I would share it with the world. As I drifted off to sleep, I felt a sense of peace. No matter what happened, I had Travis by my side, and that made everything feel a little bit easier.
Travis
I had been back in Kansas City for a few days, tying up loose ends and preparing for the trip back to LA. The anticipation of seeing Arianna again was almost too much to bear. I had missed her more than I thought possible. Today, I was spending time with my mom, who had noticed the change in me.
We were sitting in the living room, and she was sipping her tea, looking at me with that knowing smile mothers always have.
"You look different, Travis," she said, setting her cup down. "I haven't seen you this happy in a long time."
I smiled, feeling the truth of her words. "Yeah, Mom. Arianna makes me really happy."
She leaned back in her chair, her eyes warm and understanding. "I can tell. Every time you talk about her, your whole face lights up. I can't wait to meet her tomorrow."
I felt a surge of pride and excitement. "She's amazing, Mom. She's been through so much, and yet she's so strong and talented. I want you to love her as much as I do."
My mom reached over and patted my hand. "If she makes you this happy, I'm sure I'll love her. It's just good to see you like this, Travis. You've always been focused on your career, but it's nice to see you focus on your happiness too."
We talked more about Arianna, and I shared stories about our time together, from the first time we met to our trip to Greece. My mom listened intently, occasionally asking questions but mostly just letting me talk. It felt good to share my feelings, and it made me realize just how deeply I cared for Arianna.
Later that evening, I started packing for the trip back to LA. My mom came in and sat on the edge of the bed, watching me.
"You're really serious about her, aren't you?" she asked softly.
"Yeah, I am," I said, pausing to look at her. "I've never felt this way about anyone before. I just want to be with her and support her in everything she does."
She smiled, her eyes misting a little. "That's how I felt about your father. When you know, you just know."
I finished packing and gave my mom a hug. "Thanks for always being there for me, Mom. It means a lot."
"That's what mothers are for," she said, hugging me back tightly. "Now, go get some rest. You've got a big day tomorrow."
I nodded and headed to bed, my thoughts filled with Arianna and the upcoming listening party. I couldn't wait to see her again, to hear her new songs, and to be there to support her. As I lay down, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. No matter what the future held, I knew I had found something special with Arianna, and I was determined to make it work.
Author's note
I decided I'm going back two parts this book. I really don't want to finish it just yet.
