Arianna
I woke up to the soft sound of Travis getting ready for training. He moved quietly around the room, not wanting to disturb me, but I was already awake, anticipation and nerves bubbling in my stomach. Today was the day I was getting my cast off.
Travis came over and leaned down, brushing a gentle kiss on my forehead. "Good morning, beautiful," he whispered.
"Morning," I mumbled, sleep still clinging to my voice. "Good luck at training."
He smiled; his eyes warm with affection. "Thanks. I'll see you later. You know, I'm excited to be able to bend you like a pretzel again."
I laughed, swatting his arm. "You're incorrigible."
"Just being honest," he said, grinning. He kissed me once more, then headed out the door.
After a few more minutes of enjoying the quiet, I got up and started getting ready. Brittany was picking me up soon, and I wanted to be ready. As I finished getting dressed, I heard the familiar sound of her car pulling into the driveway.
"Hey, sis!" Brittany called out cheerfully as I opened the door. "Ready to get that cast off?"
"More than ready," I replied with a grin. "Let's go."
The drive to the doctor's office was filled with chatter. But as we pulled into the parking lot, I felt a wave of nervousness wash over me.
"You're going to be fine," Brittany reassured me, sensing my anxiety. "This is a good thing."
"I know," I said, taking a deep breath. "Let's do this."
Inside the office, we were quickly taken to a room where the doctor checked my progress. He examined the X-rays and gave me a thorough check-up.
"Everything looks great," the doctor said, smiling. "You've healed well, Arianna. Let's get that cast off."
I watched with a mix of nervousness and excitement as he carefully removed the cast. The cool air hitting my skin felt strange after so many weeks, but it was a relief.
"Now, you'll need to continue physical therapy with Brian to regain strength and mobility," the doctor instructed. "Take it easy at first, but you'll be back to normal in no time."
"Thank you," I said, feeling a wave of gratitude and relief.
Brittany and I left the office, and I couldn't stop smiling. "I can't believe it's finally off," I said, flexing my ankle gently.
"You did great," Brittany said, giving me a hug. "We need to celebrate. How about lunch?"
"That sounds perfect," I agreed.
We found a cozy little café and ordered our favorite dishes. As we ate, we talked about all the things I wanted to do now that I had my mobility back.
"You know, I sold my cars before moving here, I gave some of the money to the tour crew to pay for being unemployed right now." I said, taking a sip of my iced tea. "I think it's time I bought a new one."
Brittany's eyes lit up. "That's a great idea! We can go car shopping after lunch."
"Absolutely," I agreed, feeling a sense of liberation. "There's so much I want to do."
After our meal, we headed to a nearby car dealership. I felt a thrill of excitement as we walked through the lot, looking at the different models. I finally settled on a sleek, black sports car that felt perfect for my new life in Kansas City.
With the paperwork signed and the keys in my hand. I noticed my manager had texted me for an update on what the doctor said. I called my label to update them on my progress. I knew this conversation was coming, and it was one I wasn't particularly looking forward to.
