Chapter eleven

"The start of the fourth of July."

The fourth of July always was a big thing in cousins where Brooke and Susannah always put together a huge party with food, decorations, drinks and this is the one time that the dad's always come up where Matt and Adam would always set up the fireworks and steam clams with Jeremiah and Conrad, but with Matt and Adam being on the out's unbeknownst to anyone one but Susannah, Brooke and Hannah, and seeing as Hannah wasn't talking to Conrad either who she would always spend the entire day with, this was forsure going to be an interesting fourth of July.

Where Hannah was wearing a red dress that was short in the front and long in the back, as her hair was curled, she was putting her pearl necklace on, as the revving of a car's engine could be heard speeding down the road, a smile grew on her face, as she turned running out of her room and down the stairs, her mom was right behind her wearing a long blue dress, the two made it down the stairs, as Hannah went up to the front door, swinging it open, she stood there with a smile on her face along with her mother.

As her dad's black Porsche parked in the driveway, he got out of the car, wearing an all white outfit with black sunglasses, as sweet child of mine by aerosmith was blasting out of the car, he held his arms out "there are my favorite girls!" he voiced, as Hannah ran toward's him, jumping into his arms, as he hugged her, as he put her back on the ground, her mom walked up "hi." she told him "hello." her dad told her, as he leaned down kissing her and as he did, Hannah raised her brows, knowing that no matter how long they were away from each other, the two always kissed like it was the first time they ever saw each other.

Her dad then pulled away from her and tossed Hannah the keys "pop the trunk." he told her, as Hannah did so, her dad got into the car and turned it off, where Hannah and her mom walked to the trunk, seeing tons of fireworks followed by drinks, as her mom raised her brows "did you bring any clothes?" she asked, as her dad walked to the back of the car "yeah, there in the passenger seat." he told her, grabbing a few cases of beer, Hannah and her mom grabbed the bags of liquor, as they walked toward's the house.

Heading inside, the three walked toward's the kitchen and as they did, Susannah, Laurel, Steven, Jeremiah, Belly and Conrad were all in there "whoa!" Jeremiah voiced, as Hannah smiled "this isn't even all of it." she shared, as the three of them put the drinks down on the table "Laurel, looking as beautiful as always." Matt told her, as he leaned down kissing her on the forehead "thank you, Matt." Laurel told him, as he smacked her in the butt, Brooke and Susannah laughed, as Laurel turned smacking him in the butt.

Matt then grabbed Susannah's hand and spun her around and dipped her, as he brought her back up, Belly furrowed her brows at them "did anyone ever tell you guys you have a really weird relationship?" she asked, as the adults looked to her "if you think this is weird you should hear about the first time we met him. He was naked with a towel wrapped around his waist and had water dripping down his chest." Laurel shared, as Susannah chuckled "we called him mcsteamy." she remembered "actually you three called me nothing. You were just staring." Matt informed them, as Susannah smacked him on the arm.

Matt walked around the kitchen island, as Steven walked up to him "Steven, my man, how's everything going?" Matt asked him, as the two shook hands "good. Hoping to go to Princeton next year, been spending my summer working at the snack shop at the beach club." Steven shared, as Matt raised his brows "and ladies?" he asked "yeah, I'm seeing this girl Shayla, I'll introduce you guys to her later." Steven shared "nice!" Matt voiced, as Jeremiah jumped and walked toward's him "Matt!" he voiced, holding his arms out "Jeremiah! You've got a nice tan going on, been lounging by the pool flirting up a storm?" Matt asked him, as he hugged him.
