Chapter thirty six

"It was fun while it lasted."

Having made it to the arcade, Taylor was walking with Hannah "I'm just..I'm just gonna say it was supremely satisfying watching you wipe the floor with Conrad after everything he put you through. And even more so how he was like you get to pick a prize and you were like, no, I don't want one and walked off." she shared "all junior mint is, is a reminder about how awful last summer was. Now junior mint, no deb girls, I just wanna focus on all of us and getting the house back." Hannah shared.

As Taylor hummed "yes, speaking of the house isn't it, um, such a coincidence that, um, the AC broke during a heat wave right after the future engineering student arrived?" she asked, as Steven who was standing nearby looked at them, Hannah raised her brows "I have no idea what you're talking about." she told her, as she walked off, Taylor hummed, as she walked over to Steven, Hannah kept walking passing Belly, Conrad and Skye, where as she did, Conrad stopped playing the game and grabbed the stuffed polar bear and ran after her "Hannah." he told her.

And as he did, Hannah ignored him "Hannah, come on." Conrad told her, as Hannah huffed, stopping and turning to him "what?" she asked him, noticing the polar bear stuffed animal, as she scoffed "I already told you I don't want it. So how about you take her and do the same with it that you did junior mint, okay?" she asked, turning on her heel again, and walking off, and as she did, Conrad looked down at the stuffed polar bear, realizing when he said that she could get junior mint a friend, that's not how she thought about it, calling it a she, and what was worse was that he was sure she wasn't just talking about the stuffed animals but him and her.

As he turned, watching her move through the crowd, he followed after her "okay, um..I was thinking that since me and you are in the lead that maybe we should maybe make a little side bet." he shared, as Hannah raised brows "you mean force Belly onto the tower of terror seeing as her team has no wins?" she asked "yeah." Conrad told her "but you do realize if she wins the next two things and you don't then you guys will be tied which means you'll have to both go on the tower of terror. And last time I checked, you cried every time you just looked at it." Hannah shared.

"I didn't.." Conrad tried to tell her "no, no! Yes you did! And if this is what you want then fine. Just prepare yourself. Taylor's been revving up Belly with encouragement wouldn't want to see you cry." Hannah shared, smirking "okay, you're on then." Conrad shared, as Taylor came running up, jumping on Hannah's back as she caught her "what's the next game?" Taylor asked "dance revolution." Hannah shared, turning and walking off with Taylor, Steven ran at them, pretending to jump on them "no, Steven!" Taylor voiced, as Steven laughed, Skye and Cam followed behind them.

Where Conrad was watching Hannah, knowing that ever since the funeral, he wanted her back, to be her friend again, more then friends actually, yet no matter how hard he tried to hold on to her, to keep her close, to not lose her again, something always came up that reminded them of how they hurt each other, how he hurt her, where she'd push him away again, but he didn't want that anymore, and knew he had to talk to her, just not now, as he walked after them.

And as they all were standing there, Belly and Jeremiah soon walked up "so, who's going up against me?" Hannah asked "well, my moves are legendary." Jeremiah shared "actually, I think Skye's up." Belly shared "oh." Taylor said "really not a great idea if we want to win." Skye shared "you'll be great at it. It's basically just math with your feet. They'll never see you coming. This is how we win. All right?" Belly asked, as Skye nodded, they stepped onto dance machine along with Hannah "you know, your so much cooler the my mom said you'd be." Skye shared, as Hannah chuckled "why? What'd your mom tell you about me?" she asked.
