Chapter forty

"Under the midnight sky."

Having gone outside, Hannah was driving the golf cart, as Cam sat next to her, Steven, Jeremiah and Conrad were on the back of it, while Taylor, Skye and Belly walked behind them "come on, Hannah, you won on the race track, we all know that you know where the gas pedal is." Steven shared "yeah, hit the gas." Jeremiah told her "I am!" Hannah voiced, slamming her foot on it "doesn't really..it's not supposed to go that fast." Cam shared "yes it does!" Hannah voiced, as the three on the back began bouncing up and down making the whole thing shake.

"Can you actually try to be a little quiet? Cause we're actually not even supposed to be out here." Cam shared "come on, hit the gas!" Steven voiced, as Hannah slammed on the break and turned around to look at them "newsflash, I am hitting the gas! I haven't taken my foot off of it this entire time! Yet because of the idiots hitching a joy ride, it's not going at the speed it's supposed to." she shared "oh! Now that makes sense." Jeremiah shared, as Hannah moved forward, shoving them all off of it "go! Go! Go!" Cam voiced, laughing.

Hannah turned around putting her foot on the gas, as the two sped away from them, Hannah and Cam laughed as they high fived "Hannah!" Jeremiah voiced, as him, Steven and Conrad ran after it, where the three then jumped onto it and when they did, the golf cart began to tip "no, no, no!" Hannah and Cam voiced, as Hannah tried to turn it the other way, Cam put his hands on top of her's trying to help her turn the wheel "Hannah!" he voiced "it's not my fault!" Hannah voiced, as the whole entire thing then died.

"Joyrides over! Battery died." Hannah informed them, as Steven, Jeremiah and Conrad hopped off the back, Hannah and Cam got out of it "why don't we crash up there for the night?" Jeremiah asked, pointing to the top of the hill "well, that would be perfect timing because I have discovered the secret of the apple bong." Skye shared, holding it out "good job, Skye." Jeremiah told them "yeah, that's surprising." Cam told them "I have layers." Skye told him, as Hannah raised her brows, looking between the two, Jeremiah clapped his hands "great, let's start unpacking." he shared, turning to grab the stuff they brought out with them.

Where Hannah had gone up to the hill with Skye, Belly and Taylor, Taylor put a lighter to the apple bong as she breathed the smoke in, Hannah was lying on the ground looking up at the sky "Taylor, volleyball camp is in four days." Belly shared, eating a chip, Taylor blew the smoke out "it's not like they're going to drug test us. Coach would have to put that in her email, right?" Taylor asked "what email?" Belly asked "the one that we got yesterday about camp. Have you talked to coach yet?" Taylor asked her "um..no, not yet." Belly told her "Belly, wait. Why? I swear to god, if you bail on us again." Taylor told her.

"No, no, no. I'm not bailing. I want to go." Belly told her "okay, well, don't tell me. Tell coach that." Taylor told her, smoking the apple bong again "okay. Okay, yeah. I'll text her right now." Belly shared "great. Here." Taylor shared, holding the apple bong out to Hannah, she waved it off, as Taylor then handed it to Skye, as Skye smoked it "you know, I..I..I really just don't want to..I don't want to have a big conversation with her about last season, and, I don't know, I feel like I just want to show up ready to play and prove myself on the court." Belly shared.

"Okay. I love that. It's very killa B." Taylor told her "right?" Belly asked "yeah." Taylor told her "so I don't have to text her, right?" Belly asked "give me your phone." Taylor told her, holding her hand out, Belly gave her, her phone "this is ridiculous. Hey, coach, I'm planning to come to camp next weekend. I already talked to the rest of the squad and they are cool with me coming. Can't wait to see you on the court." Taylor shared "yeah, that's good, yeah." Belly told her, as Steven walked up "what's happening over here? Hmm?" he asked, dropping the snacks down "playing truth or dare or what?" he asked.
