Chapter twenty seven

"I've been watching you for ages."

And since then so much has happened, where Hannah had to go to Brown, but that didn't mean she stayed there full time, going back and forth, from school to home, knowing she needed to spend as much time with Susannah as she could, where she was keeping up her grades being at the top of her classes, although now with finals week coming up, she was also waiting on her acceptance to Stanford, seeing as that's where she wanted to go originally before she went to Brown, yet with everything that was going on, Brown was just closer for her to do what she wanted, and her parents had been okay with that for the most part.

But being at the same school as Conrad was hard, where the two had ended up in the same dorm building and on the same floor, where Hannah tried her best to ignore him, where the two were even in the same biology class, where he sat behind her watching her take notes while he took his own, where his roommate who would copy off of his, but he didn't care, where today there biology class had been let out early since their final was this upcoming Thursday, he watched her walk across campus like he always did.

Wanting to make sure she was okay, even though the two weren't exactly on speaking terms, where after his mom died only a month ago, things had only gotten even more complicated with them, as he remembered the moments before it all, back when he'd run into her during the first weeks of college.

Standing in his dorm room, he had called Belly, as he held the phone up to his ear, it rang and rang until she answered "hey." she told him "hey." Conrad told her "I, uh, didn't expect to hear from you." Belly told him "yeah, is it okay that I'm, that I'm calling? I shouldn't have called. This was dumb. I'm sorry." Conrad told her "no, no, no, no, it's okay. Um..we're still friends, right?" Belly asked him "yeah, yeah. We're friends, yeah." Conrad told her "yeah, and, um, friends can talk on the phone." Belly told him "yeah, yeah. Nothing weird about friends talking on the phone." Conrad shared.

And as he did, he heard the sound of the stairwell door at the end of the hallway banging by the sound of something falling down as he furrowed his brows "uh, so how's..how's college life?" Belly asked him "um, it's cool, it's cook. My roommate snores even louder than you do. Which.." Conrad told her, as he walked toward's his door, wondering what that noise was "oh, come on. I don't snore." Belly told him, laughing "yes, you do. You a thousand percent do. I've heard you through the walls for years. Only when you're really tired, though. How's school for you?" Conrad asked her.

"Boring. Painful. I mean, like, no, no, who invented trig, and why do they torture innocent high school students with it?" Belly asked, as Conrad chuckled "it can't be that bad." he told her "no, oh, it's..it's bad. It's..it's really bad. I mean, I can't keep up with all the letters." Belly shared "well, you know, the first thing you gotta do is determine if it's a right angle or.." Conrad was telling her "Belly, have you seen my, uh, big kettle bell? The twenty pound one?" he heard Steven asked on the other end "Steven, I'm on the phone." Belly told him "well, tell Taylor to go to bed." Steven said "hi, Steven." Conrad told him.

"Hey, Conrad." Steven said, as Conrad laughed quietly "it's not in here. Go away. Sorry about that." Belly told him, as Conrad chuckled, he then heard a thud outside again, bringing his attention back to outside the door, where he then started hearing laughter from outside of it, where one of them was unfamiliar but the other? The other was a very familiar one, as he walked toward's the door and opened it.

He looked out, seeing Hannah on the floor in black heeled boots, with a pair of jeans on and a black long sleeved v neck shirt, where her hair was down and curled, where a girl he'd only seen before in passing was behind her with her hair up in a bun, she was wearing a white long sleeve shirt and jeans with tanned healed boots, where the two were laughing "I told you we should've let those frat guys take us back." the girl told her, as Hannah turned to her "and I told you those frat guys were assholes, Sophie." she told her, putting her hands on the wall and standing back up.
