034. SPEND THE DAY AT THE PIER, LIKE THE OLD DAYS

Chapter thirty four

"Spend the day at the pier, like the old days."

They had taken three cars as they parked, they all walked onto the pier together, walking past all the rides, they were all looking around thinking about what to do first "see, aren't you glad we came?" Belly asked, as Hannah ignored her "I thought the point of leaving was to find AC?" she asked, and when she did, Belly realized she was ignoring her, which wasn't a shock seeing as the two of them since not only what happened at the end of last summer but even more so Susannah's funeral, the two of them being fine was gonna take sometime "I want some ice cream. Nature's air conditioning." Taylor shared, as Hannah raised her brows "that's a start." she told them, as she began walking off, everyone began following her.

Where they all had gotten ice cream in a cup, as they began walking up the steps to the top level of the pier "you know, I'm kind of a natural introvert, so I can't tell if this place is horrifying or if it's just, like, my lizard brain in action." Skye shared "it's fun, I promise." Belly told her "fun? Cause, uh, I seem to remember the last time we were here, you were crying." Jeremiah shared "oh yeah! Because I beat Conrad at shoot your shot and Belly wanted to try and then she did, and she lost! And we all made her penalty be to go on the tower of terror." Hannah shared "Belly, you were so scared, you threw up." Jeremiah shared.

"I was sick." Belly told him "sick with fear. My mom had to throw out your clothes and carry you home in a caftan." Conrad shared, as Hannah gasped turning to him "that was my mom's idea!" she voiced, as three of them laughed "Susannah used to force my mom to come here when they were kids. My mom always hated it, but Susannah loved it so much, especially since she got to bring her best friend Brooke along on every vacation.." Skye shared "you know what else my mom loved? The beach house. Which was supposed to become her best friend Brooke's until your mom got involved." Conrad shared.

As Conrad saw that Hannah had more ice cream in her cup then he did, he stuck his spoon in it and ate it "hey!" Hannah voiced "my mom's not evil, Conrad. And your mom wasn't a saint." Sjye shared, as Hannah spun around and glared at them along with Conrad, in which Jeremiah looked at the both of them "Skye, have you ever played shoot your shot?" Belly asked "no, and I'm..I'm fine keeping it that way." Skye shared, as Steven came over and bumped into Hannah, making her bump into Conrad "what are you doing?" Hannah asked him "just standing here just like you three." Steven told her.

"Well, do you want to watch Hannah beat Conrad's ass?" Belly asked, looking to them "she could not do that." Conrad told her, as Steven chuckled, Hannah raised her brows "I wouldn't hate watching that." Skye shared, as Hannah turned to Conrad "you really think I can't beat you again?" she asked him, as Conrad turned and looked down at her "okay, no, please, not another great boardwalk showdown." Steven shared "oh, come on, what else are we gonna do?" Hannah asked.

As Taylor looked to Skye "so they used to do this big tournament on the boardwalk every year when they were kids. I would get a, um, a riveting play by play as soon as Belly got home." she shared "well, yeah, every year until Hannah, Belly and Conrad all got to competitive. And then my mom banned us from ever playing again." Steven shared, as they all laughed "are you down, Jere?" Conrad asked him "uh..hell yeah. Let's do it." Jeremiah shared "whoa, yes. Yes." Steven shared as him and Jeremiah fist bumped "I should actually, um, head out." Skye shared "no, you should stay." Conrad told them, as he cleared this throat "it's fun." he told her.

"It's too late. You're already on my team." Belly shared, as Hannah raised her brows "then Taylor's on my team." she shared, and when she did, Belly looked to her "what?" she asked "yes! I used to remember hearing about you winning all the time!" Taylor voiced, walking over to her "fine. You win. But I don't do high fives. I'm not gonna, like, whoop in the air. I don't trash talk. The corners of my mouth might just turn up just a little bit, but I'm not gonna smile." Skye shared with Belly "deal." Belly told them "deal." Skye told her, as they all continued eating their ice cream.
