Chapter forty four
"Brand new owners of the beach house."
Having fell asleep on the beach, Conrad was holding Hannah in his arms, as he woke up before her, he was looking down at her, and running his hand through her hair, hoping that unlike the last time he found her drunk, that she'd remember last night, what the two of them confessed to each other, because he knew there was no going back for him, he was all in, wanting her with him for the rest of his life "Hannah.." he told her.
And when he did, Hannah opened her eyes looking at him, and seeing him there smiling down at her, and that he was holding her in his arms, made her realize that last night, it wasn't a dream, it was real, as she brought her hand up, running it through his hair, she smiled "hi." she told him, and when she did, Conrad knew, that she was his and he was her's, and all he wanted to do was stay in this moment forever, but they couldn't, not yet at least.
"We should probably go back to the house and help everyone clean up because before I came down here last night there was some dude spray painting on the wall? And..and some girl threw up right in front of me.." Hannah shared, and as she did, Conrad started laughing, and when he did Hannah joined him "that's disgusting." Conrad told her "I know." Hannah told him, pushing herself off of him and up off the ground, holding her hand out to him, she sighed "which makes me nervous about what else we're gonna find when we walk back through those doors." she shared.
As Conrad brought his hand up, giving her his hand as she helped him up, he looked down at her as he squeezed her hands "I know one thing that's not gonna change when we walk through those doors." he told her, and when he did, Hannah squeezed his hand back, as she turned walking off, Conrad followed her.
Making it back to the house, the outside was trashed, as the two stepped over empty cups, they headed through the backdoor and when they did, the entire place was a mess with more then just spray paint or vomit, there were empty cups, bottles everywhere, as Steven walked up to them "where the hell have you guys.." he was asking, but then noticed the two of them holding hands "okay. Okay! I wanna know! But I can tell by the wide eyes that both of you know this is bad!" he voiced.
"Guys, what the hell?" Laurel asked, and when she did, Hannah and Conrad furrowed their brows and turned around seeing her "mom." Steven told her "Belly drunk dials me, and I drive all night to find..this? I'm just glad your mom isn't here to see what you guys did to her house. And if your mom was to show up here Hannah? She'd lose her mind! I want this place spotless and for every single thing of Susannah and Brookes to be put back exactly where it belongs. If even one thing is broken or missing, I swear to god!" Laurel voiced.
"Mom, we weren't the ones who moved their stuff." Steven shared "it was aunt Julia. She's the one who emptied it, not us." Conrad shared "she's selling it." Hannah shared "but I thought Susannah talked to her lawyers. She told me she reached out to Julia right before things got bad." Laurel shared "wait. Then why didn't you say anything? Conrad had to find out from a for a sale sign in the front yard! Which Hannah had been told by her mother to come down here and take it down!" Steven voiced "I just assumed they resolved it before Susannah.." Laurel shared.
"They didn't my parents have been fighting her ever since the funeral on this." Hannah informed her "Connie, does you dad know?" Laurel asked "of course he knows! And of course he's done nothing at all to help us!" Conrad voiced "yeah, that's why Hannah, the guys and Belly came here. They were trying to work something out with aunt Julia themselves." Steven shared "and?" Laurel asked "and we failed. Aunt Julia's already sold the house to some rich family. They finalized the deal yesterday. But like you said, at least my mom's not here to see it." Conrad shared, walking off.
