Chapter fourteen

"False god."

Having lost Conrad, Hannah went and found Susannah who gave her a smile, as she linked her arm with her "looks like someone came out of hiding." she told her, walking her up the stairs to the house, the two walked inside "cause it's time for cake, which from what I recall was always your favorite part. I even made it your favorite flavor, chocolate with vanilla icing." she shared, as the two walked into the kitchen, Laurel and Belly were there, as Susannah unlinked her arm from Hannah and grabbed the cake "cake time." she told them, as she laughed.

Hannah turned around and walked back to the door, holding it open for Susannah "thank you." Susannah told her, as she stepped outside, Hannah followed her, where the two noticed the only people out there were Adam, Victoria, John, Brooke and Matt "where'd all the kids go?" Susannah asked "uh, more for us." John told her "that's the spirit, John, my eternal optimist." Susannah shared "hey, what about me?" Brooke asked her, as Susannah chuckled "you and me are the dreamers along with Hannah." she told her, as the two walked down the steps.

Belly came running out behind them "ooh, I want the piece with the strawberries!" she voiced, tripping and when she did, she fell into Susannah and when she did, the cake went flying but as it did, Hannah put herself in front of Susannah to catch her.

Leaving the cake platter to fly and smash onto the ground along with the cake, where Hannah then broke Susannah's fall as Belly fell as well "Belly, are you okay?" Laurel asked, as she came running down, Matt and Brooke ran over to Hannah and Susannah so did Adam who got there first "Hannah, are you okay?" Susannah asked her "I broke your fall that's what matters.." Hannah told her, as she winced "are you two okay? Let me help you guys up." Adam told them, leaning down to do so "Adam, we're fine." Susannah told him.

"Come on. Please." Adam told her, trying to help her "I got it. I got it, stop it." Susannah told him, and as she did, Matt walked up and grabbed him and when he did, he punched him in the face "Matt!" Laurel voiced "what the hell man?" Adam asked him "you know what that was for." Matt told him "just go away." Susannah told him, as Brooke turned helping her up "I'm sorry." Belly told them, as Susannah and Brooke looked to her, Matt leaned down and helped Hannah up "come on." he told her, but as he did, Hannah fell back down "whoa, whoa, okay.." her dad told her, as he quickly caught her.

Brooke began walking Susannah inside, as Matt carried Hannah after them "mom?" Belly asked her "I'll deal with you later." Laurel told her, as she got up and followed after them "Brooke get the med kit." Matt told her "on it." Brooke told him, as Hannah shook her head "no, no, I'm..I'm fine, put me down." she told him, as her dad carried her toward's the couch "Hannah, you dove onto concrete to have Susannah, that plus standing up and falling back down equals night fine." he shared, as he laid her down, Hannah winced "that was Susannah's grandmother's cake stand." she told him.

"And now it's in your hair." her dad told her, and when he did, Hannah started crying, as she brought her hands up to her face, her mom walked into the room with the med kit giving Susannah and Laurel time to talk, as she handed it to him, her dad took it and opened it, as he grabbed the ankle wrap and began putting it around her left ankle that he saw was the one that went down first "she might have a mini concussion which should go away soon." he informed her mom, as she nodded "she didn't care what happened to her. She cared about Susannah." she shared "and her grandmother's cake stand." her dad shared.

"You are so not funny right now." Hannah shared, through her tears "Hannah.." her mom told her "I just wanna be left alone." Hannah told them, as her mom nodded "okay, okay, we'll..we'll leave you alone." she told her, as she turned walking out, her dad patted her on the leg, as he grabbed the med kit and closed it, as he stood up, walking after her mom, leaving Hannah there alone like she had told them too, as she continued to cry.
