Chapter fifty two
"Wildest dreams."
The next morning, when Hannah and Conrad woke up, Conrad told her to get dressed and to meet her at the bus stop, not even giving her a chance to say goodbye to Jeremiah or Belly, as Hannah was sitting at the bus stop with her stuff, she felt an adrenaline rush, the two we're getting out, just them, away from everyone else, he didn't tell her where they were running off too, but it didn't matter as long as the two of them we're together, hearing footsteps coming up to her, she turned her head, seeing Conrad with all his stuff, she laughed "so are you gonna tell me where we're going?" she asked.
"I'm not ruining the surprise." Conrad told her, as he sat down next to her on the bench, Hannah chuckled "fine. Fine, I'll stop asking." she told him, as the two sat there looking at each other, the two of them laughed, and as they did, the bus began driving down the street, and as it did, the two of them stood up, grabbing their bags, the bus pulled up in front of them and as it did, Hannah walked up to the bus, climbing up the steps, she began walking to the back, as Conrad handed their tickets to the bus driver, he followed Hannah all the way to the very back, sitting down beside her, the two of them put their stuff down, and as they did, Conrad grabbed Hannah's hand, as the doors to the bus closed, it began driving off.
Having arrived at their destination it happened to be cousins, as Hannah walked off the bus, she furrowed her brows "you decided to runaway to here?" she asked, and as she did, Conrad sighed "okay for this part. You're gonna need to let me blindfold you." he shared, as Hannah looked to him "blindfold me?" she asked him, as Conrad turned to her, holding the red scarf in his hand "yes." he told her, as Hannah rolled her eyes "fine." she told him, as Conrad stepped behind her, putting the scarf over her eyes, he tied it up, and as he did, he looked to the parking lot, seeing her range rover, his plan was working out perfectly.
Having put all their stuff in the car, Hannah was still blindfolded as she sat in the passenger seat, she knew exactly where Conrad was driving to, having taken this drive so many times, where she even knew when they pulled down the street and into the driveway of the summer house, where Conrad still didn't let her take the blindfold off, as he walked her toward's the house, pulling out his key, he leaned around her and unlocked the door, opening it, he walked the two of them inside, and as he did, the entire house was back to the way the two had seen it when they first came back here when they heard it was selling.
The dining room was back, the portraits that Susannah had painted of them all were back on the wall leading up the stairs, where Conrad found himself looking at the one of Hannah, Hannah chuckled "can I take this off now?" she asked him, and when she did, Conrad was brought back to reality, which was starting to feel less and less like it by the minute "yes.." he told her, bringing his hands up, he untied the scarf.
And as it fell down, Hannah looked around them seeing the entire place looked the exact same as Susannah had left it, as a smile came across her face, she spun around looking at him, she put her arms around his neck, she pulled him down and kissed him and when she did, Conrad kissed her back "is this my surprise?" Hannah asked him, as Conrad furrowed his brows "no, I think there's one more surprise. And it happens to be in your room." he shared, and when he did, Hannah furrowed her brows "Conrad.." she told him, and when she did, Conrad chuckled "not like that!" he voiced, as Hannah laughed.
Conrad motioned with his head upstairs "just go see for yourself. I'll bring everything in." he shared, and as he did, Hannah nodded "okay." she told him, taking her arms off from around his neck, she turned, stepping toward's the staircase, she headed upstairs and down the hallway toward's her room, where the door was closed, and as she put her hand down on the handle and opened it, she saw a white dress laying down on her bed, as she turned around, looking to see if Conrad had come upstairs, but he hadn't, as she turned back around and stepped into her room, she shut the door behind her.
Walking over to her bed that was already made, minty was by the pillows, while the blanket Susannah had made her was what the white dress was lying against, but as she got closer, she noticed a note on top of it with her name on it, picking it up, she was afraid to open it, cause last time she got a note like this it was from Susannah the night of the deb ball and it made her cry, as she stood there for a little while not opening it, curiosity soon over came her, as she took a deep breath and opened the letter, there were only five words, written in very familiar hand writing.
Meet me on the beach, it said, finished off with Conrad's signature, she chuckled, throwing the note down on the bed, she looked at the dress.
Having changed into the dress and the matching sandals, Hannah walked out of her room and down the hallway, and down the stairs, and when she did, she looked to the patio door and as she did, there were roses on the floor, leading to the open door, she smiled, as she ran toward's the door, heading through the backyard, and down to the beach, where she soon slowed up, seeing him standing there in a suit, she began walking toward's him, and as she did, Conrad turned to her, where the two looked at each other as the waves were crashing in the distance.
"Hannah Elizabeth Bass." Conrad told her, as he pulled the ring box out of his pocket, he began going down on one knee "will you do me the honor in making me the luckiest man alive and marry me?" he asked her, opening the ring box, and showing her the ring, a huge smile came across Hannah's face as she began nodding "yes. Yes, I will marry you." she told him, as Conrad smiled up at her, he pulled the ring out of the box and put it on her left ring finger and as he did, he stood up, pulling her into a kiss, and as he did, Hannah brought her hands up to his face, kissing him back, and as she did, Conrad brought his hands around her waist, as he picked her up and spun her around.
