Chapter thirty eight
"Being there for each other, even if you don't know."
Steven drove in first, followed by Jeremiah and then Conrad, as they all wound up at the club, as they got out and walked toward's the doors "all right, here we go." Jeremiah told them, as he pulled out his key card and scanned it on the keypad "what, you kept that?" Steven asked "perks of not cleaning out your wallet." Jeremiah shared "what if there's someone in there?" Belly asked "it's been closed for hours and..and there's never any night guards. We're good." Jeremiah shared "okay.." Belly shared, as Jeremiah scanned his keycard again, and it still wouldn't open, as he put it to it multiple times, it continued to beep "shit." he said.
"Not a great plan." Skye said, as Cam snorted, they all looked to Skye "it's from avengers. RDJ." Skye shared "I understood that reference." Cam told them, as the two laughed "can you guys, like not? For just two seconds?" Jeremiah asked "right." Cam said, as he sighed, Jeremiah kept trying to scan his keycard in, but it continued to beep "okay, there's got to be another way, right?" Belly asked "we can try the pool gate." Jeremiah told them "uh, we could also use my mom's key code." Cam shared, as they all looked at him "wait, are you sure? Your mom?" Belly asked him.
"Yeah, it's fine. She's the manager at the restaurant, here, so.." Cam shared, stepping forward, Jeremiah stepped back, as Cam then stepped toward's the keypad "I mean, wouldn't she get in trouble, though, if someone like checked the logs?" Skye asked "no, no. She works the randomest hours, so that alone shouldn't raise any red flags." Cam shared, putting the key code and scanning in "so long as we don't make a mess, like at all." he shared, looking at Jeremiah and Steven, Jeremiah held his hands up "should be good." Cam told them, as he turned opening the door.
"They won't even know we're here." Jeremiah told him, as he walked toward's him "thank you for not being on that whale boat, Cam Cameron." he shared, walking inside "thank you." Belly told him, following him in, Hannah and Conrad followed after her, followed by Steven, Skye and Taylor then Cam.
All the lights were off "hello?" Jeremiah asked, but nobody responded as he turned, turning on the lights "so what do we do now?" Taylor asked "ugh. Could we scavenge for food? I need something in my system other then sugar." Skye shared "allow me to escort you to the kitchen." Cam shared, as the two turned to walk off "actually, wait. Can I come with you? I have really specific snack requirements." Taylor shared, walking after them "uh, uh, Taylor. No, you're coming with me. We'll fashion, like, blankets out of, like, curtains and shit." Steven shared "no, I'm on snack patrol right now." Taylor shared, looking to him.
"Okay. So? I need your loudest voice to scare away all the murderers." Steven shared "yeah, I'm team murderers." Taylor shared, going to walk to the kitchen "okay, fine. No, I mean, as long as you're cool with, like, sleeping on, like, dusty polyester sheets." Steven shared, as he began walking away "I hate you so much." Taylor told him, as she followed after him, Steven laughed "why do you need help with this?" Taylor asked him, as the two disappeared down the hallway, leaving Hannah, Conrad, Belly and Jeremiah.
"All right, I think I know a place we could sleep." Jeremiah shared, as he looked to Hannah and Conrad "you two wanna come?" he asked, as Hannah brought her hand up to her necklace, remembering the last time she was here, Susannah was still alive "I, um, I think I know a place where I could actually find something to use as blankets and sheets compared to Steven and Taylor so I'm gonna..go do that." she shared, turning and walking down the right hallway, and as she did, she held onto the pearl necklace, feeling like she betrayed Susannah by going on that boardwalk today.
