Chapter thirty seven

"Don't know what to do anymore."

Standing there, Conrad walked towards the living room and as he did, Hannah followed him and when they did, they saw how everything in their was gone to, as Conrad turned walking back to the rest of them, Hannah followed him, as footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs, the two turned to the hallway, seeing Jeremiah "everything's gone." he told them, as the sound of a door being closed filled their ears, they all turned their attention toward's it, where Conrad walked around Belly and headed into the kitchen and as he did, Hannah followed him, where Julia was there.

"What the fuck, Julia?" Conrad asked her, as Jeremiah walked up to the three of them "I'm sorry. This must be such a shock. I..I spoke to your father this afternoon, and..and he and I decided that it would be best not to drag this out any longer then necessary." she shared, filling up the garbage bag "we don't give a shit about what you two decided on. Neither you or him had any right to decide what happens to anything in this house. Those were her and my mom's things." Hannah shared, as Steven ran up to them "Hannah.." he told her "stop." Conrad told him.

"Everything's in storage. I made sure that everyone was very careful with every single thing. I'm just doing what I have to do to sell this house." Julia shared, grabbing the bag off the ground "Susannah gave this house to my parents! It's not even supposed to be yours! You just want to sell it out of spite because your mad Susannah liked my mother more then she liked you!" Hannah voiced, and as she did, Julia then slapped her across the face, Conrad was glaring at Julia, as Steven, Jeremiah, Belly, Cam, Taylor and Skye's eyes went wide.

Hannah then walked out of there past Steven and Jeremiah "Hannah.." Jeremiah told her, reaching his hand out to her, Hannah shoved it off of her, as she walked past Cam, Belly, Taylor and Skye, walking to the front door, she opened it and slammed it behind her.

Leaving the rest of them standing there, Julia scoffed "got a mouth on her just like her mother. And like I've told that women time and time again, you're not the only one's hurting here. And I'm not the one you should be angry with. Your mother could've warned you along with that girls family that this was gonna happen and that I wasn't just gonna hand the house over to them." Julie shared, as she continued to put garbage in the bag "she just wanted to make me look like the bad guy, as usual." she shared.

"I'm so sorry that she was too busy dying to make your life a little easier." Conrad shared, as Julie stared at him "and you just slapped the one person who was with her through all of it. And, it sucks that grandfather loved her more than you and that just like Hannah said that our mom loved her's more than she loved you, but I'm not surprised." Conrad shared, as he turned walking out to go find Hannah, Jeremiah put his hand out to him, as Conrad shoved him off of him, he walked down the hallway and to the front door opening it, he shut it behind him.

And as he did, the door opened up again behind him "Connie.." Steven told him, but as he did, Conrad then saw Hannah by her car, no longer have the stuff he had given her in her hands, and her hair was no longer in a ponytail but down, as she was pacing, running her hand through her hair as she held her phone up to her ear "dad! She took fucking everything! Everything her and mom paid for to make this place what it is? She got some random mover guys to come and take it all and put it in some storage unit! And when I told her the truth on how Susannah loved mom more then her? She hit me!" she voiced.

And when she did, Conrad then pulled out his phone calling his dad, and as he did, Jeremiah, Belly, Taylor and Cam came walking out "oh, and of course! Our lovely hero, Adam? Hmm? He knew this was happening today and conspired with her to get this over with as fast as possible, dad!" Hannah voiced "Hannah, what can he do!" Jeremiah yelled out to her, as Connor turned to him, listening to the phone ringing "Jere! He doesn't care about us!" he voiced, turning around, and when he did, he saw Hannah lean against her car, as she put her hand up to her face, as her voice got quieter.

"We didn't plan this. Susannah..Susannah gave this house to house, but she..she couldn't have known this was going to happen. But it did and it is. And we've..we've tried everything since the funeral to try and stop it and nothing..nothing's working and now it's all gone.." Hannah shared, as she started to cry, feeling like she couldn't breathe "I..I don't know...I don't what to do anymore." she shared, hitting the button to hang up the call, and as she did, her legs gave out on her as she slid down onto the ground, dropping her phone, she put her head in her hands.

And they all watched her "and this asshole won't even pick up my fu..calls." Conrad shared, as he turned around, seeing Skye standing there, he walked over to them "did you know about this?" he asked, as Jeremiah stepped in front of him, putting his hand on his chest "easy." he told him "no, no, I'm serious." Conrad said, moving past him, his voice broke, as he pointed at them "I'm serious. Did you know about this?" he asked "I..I didn't know anything, okay? I swear I would have told you." Skye told him "would you have? Really? Because we haven't seen each other in ten years. Would a day at the boardwalk have been enough to make you betray your mom?' Conrad asked them.

"Listen, I know we don't know each other very well, but I..I wouldn't have sideswiped you like this." Skye shared, as Jeremiah turned looking at Hannah who was still on the ground "Connie, come on. What are we gonna do?" Steven asked him "I don't know." Conrad told him, turning around, he looked at Hannah, knowing she was in the same position he was in, not knowing what to do either, she just hit rock bottom faster then he did, and all he wanted to do right now was go over there and hold her, but he knew he couldn't, not without knowing where they were gonna go from here.

"Okay, we can't just leave. All right? The house isn't sold yet. We still have a chance." Jeremiah shared "a slim one. I mean, full disclosure, mom's realtor is expecting multiple cash offers, all over asking, no contingencies." Skye shared "thank you, Skye, for that bleak as fuck assessment. Also, where are we gonna sleep tonight?" Steven asked "I think there are some sleeping bags in the garage." Belly shared "there's no way Hannah's sleeping in this house and if she's not, I'm not either." Conrad shared, as Jeremiah stepped toward's him, putting his hand on his shoulder "okay, I..we don't have to. All right?" he asked him.

"Okay, well, hotels are usually all booked up around this time of year." Belly shared "I feel like I should..go. And I'd totally invite you guys to come stay with me, but it's a pretty small place, so.." Cam shared "yeah, maybe..maybe we should go, too." Taylor shared "don't go yet. I know a place where we can crash for the night." Jeremiah shared, and as he did, Conrad nodded, as he began walking off, toward's Hannah, he crouched down to her, bringing his hands up to her face, he wiped the tears off her face "Jeremiah claims he has a place for us to sleep tonight." he shared.

And as he did, Hannah chuckled, which came out hoarse "that..that can't be good." she told him "probably not. But it's the only thing we have." Conrad shared, as Hannah sighed, turning to grab her phone and her keys, her and Conrad stood up, as Hannah turned to her car, Conrad stopped her "no, no, I'll..I'll drive." he told her, as Hannah handed him her car keys, she walked around to the passenger side, getting it in, Conrad opened the drivers side door and got in, throwing the keys into the middle counsel, he started it up, and waited for Jeremiah and Steven to drive off to follow them.
