Chapter twenty eight

"Going to track them down."

It was Christmas, where Hannah had come down from college for winter break, where when she arrived, she didn't walk into her home, but instead the Fisher household, as she opened the door and walked inside, shutting it behind her, Jeremiah came walking up to her "hey, Hannah." he told her, as Hannah turned to him with a smile on her face "hey, Jere." she told him, pulling him into a hug "you doing okay?" she asked him, as Jeremiah chuckled, hugging her back "you ask me that every time you come and my answer is always the same." he shared, as Hannah pulled away, raising her brows "maybe it's just the fact that I'm hoping one of these days you'll give me a real answer." she shared.

As the two of them laughed, Jeremiah furrowed his brows, pointing behind him "um, the parents wanna talk to you." he told her, as Hannah furrowed her brows "me? Why?" she asked him, as Jeremiah shrugged "I don't know, they won't tell me." he told her, as Hannah stepped around him, walking toward's the room that she had walked toward's every time she'd been coming here this year, as she stepped into what had become Susannah's room, her mom, her dad and both Susannah and Adam were standing there, all seeming to be waiting for her.

Which in recent times, anytime she was in a room with all of them, it didn't end well "what's going on?" she asked them all "well, we all were talking and we had an idea." her dad began, as Hannah raised her brows "an idea? All four of you? Without yelling at each other?" she asked, looking to Adam at that part and when she did, Adam cleared his throat as he motioned to Susannah "it was actually her idea. But we all agreed on it." he shared "if this is another make shift date or some kind of fake wedding I'm gonna have to pass this time." Hannah shared.

And when she did, her mom and Susannah laughed "no, no, it's nothing..nothing like that." her mom told her, as she cleared her throat "we were just thinking that you've been spending a lot of time here and.." she shared, looking down at the floor, Hannah furrowed her brows "and what? You don't want me to anymore?" she asked, feeling like her heart was breaking all over again, just like it did at the end of the summer with Conrad "no, no, of course not! We were just thinking that you needed sometime away." her mom shared.

As Hannah laughed "I..I am away! I've been going to school and staying there when I don't come here! I'm literally at the top of my classes!" she voiced, motioning behind her out the door, not believing this was happening right now "Hannah." Susannah told her, and when she did, Hannah looked to her "we want you to go to the summer beach house." Susannah told her, and when she did, Hannah crossed her arms as she shook her head "no, no.." she told them, looking down at the floor.

"Susannah knew you would say that which is why she gave you the ultimatum. Where either you drive yourself down there or.." her dad was saying "or one of the three of us give you no choice and drive you there ourselves." Adam shared, and as he did, Hannah took a shaky deep breath, she didn't even look up at them, as she turned around walking out of there.

And as she headed toward's the front door, Jeremiah ran out of the kitchen, having been listening to their conversation "no, no, no, Hannah! Hannah, please don't go!" he voiced, as Hannah turned to him "I don't exactly have a choice, Jere. If I don't go myself. They're gonna make me go." she shared, turning around and to the front door, she put her hand on the handle, opening it, but as she did, Jeremiah slammed it shut, as he stood in front of her "Jeremiah.." Hannah told him "let me at least come with you. It's Christmas. You can't spend it by yourself." Jeremiah shared.
