"Ellie Belle, please come here so I can get you ready for school." Meredith asked her 5 year old daughter

"Mama!" Ellis ran into her mom's arms

"Hey little monkey!" Meredith laughed, letting her daughter climb on top of her lap so she could comb her hair

"I want piggies in my hair!" She giggled loudly

"Really? Those are my favorites! With your pink bows?"

"Yes mama! Yes!" Ellis jumped up in down in Meredith's lap

"Easy, princess." Meredith reminded her daughter

"Hey girls, are you two ready?" Mark asked as he peeked into the hallway

"Almost but you can go ahead, I'll bring her to school." Meredith assured him

"Are you sure? I can wait a bit longer for you." He offered

"It's really okay, Markie." Meredith teased him a bit. "I need my car anyway, I got PT after work."

"Okay. I'll see you two tonight then! I bet mom's making us pasta!" He winked as Carolyn often made extra food so Mark could take it home

"Please thank Carolyn again." Meredith said and let Ellis climb off her lap so she could get the girl dressed

"Bye bye Ellie!" Mark waved as he left

"Mama, can we have lunch togethew?"

"Of course, I think I want fries today." Meredith chuckled and finished getting her daughter ready, she then had to hurry as she was running late for work

She hurried towards daycare with Ellis and promised she'd come get her for lunch

"Bye bye monkey, mommy loves you." Meredith gave her a final kiss

"Bye mama! Luf u!" Ellis waved at her mom

Meredith quickly went to the attendings room to get changed into her scrubs and went to get herself ready for her first surgery of the day

She got scrubbed in and got herself all ready

"Hey, it's been ages since we operated together." Addison joined Meredith

"I know, I'm glad we can do this together." Meredith smiled and tied her mask

"How are you doing? Did you make it on time?" Addison chuckled

"Of course we did, Ellis and I mastered our routines." Meredith said but had to chuckle, everyone knew Meredith tend to often be a little late

"Mark and I heard you had to get up at night?" Addison carefully asked, she hated to do this since the four of them shared a house

"Ellis wanted milk." Meredith shrugged. "She couldn't sleep."

"It's been happening more frequently, can we help in any way?" Addison offered

"No." Meredith shook her head and quickly wanted to change the subject. "I will install myself at the table."

Addison nodded softly, watching as her friend wheeled up towards the operating table and let her mechanic wheelchair raise her into a standing position. Addison could see the big scar running from underneath her hair past her scrub shirt. She was very aware what had happened a few years back and why she had that scar, but also why she was now a single parent to little Ellis, the girl that had every single person wrapped around her tiny finger

A while later Richard walked through the door, he had been like a second dad to Meredith while she had been working for Seattle Grace but then Meredith spotted the man behind him, she was surprised by his bright blue eyes
