Meredith and Ellis had been laying down on the couch for a while until she heard Mark and Derek arrive

"Hey, Addie's stuck in surgery but Derek and I moved some of his stuff, I'll help him get installed." Mark explained

"Let me know if I can help." Meredith smiled from her spot on the couch

"I finished!" Ellis giggled as she finished the cup of ice cream she had gotten from Meredith

"Looks yummy!" Mark winked and took Derek upstairs

"Okay princess, I think it's bath time for you." Meredith smiled

"Yes! With puwple bubbles!" Ellis nodded and went to put away her bowl and joined her mom in their bathroom downstairs

Meanwhile Derek was getting his room ready upstairs

"I had no idea Meredith was in a wheelchair." Derek carefully said

"I don't know why I would have to explain. I told you we live with her, right?" Mark frowned

"Yeah but not that she can't walk."

"Doesn't seem very important to me." Mark shrugged. "I'm going to ma now."

"I'll stay here, I think I'll grab a beer after I take a hot shower." Derek nodded

Meanwhile downstairs Meredith had finished Ellie's bath and took a shower as well. Ellis was playing with some toys while waiting for her mom to finish

"Mama, can we go see papa soon?" Ellis asked

Meredith took a sharp breath. She didn't wanna disappoint her daughter but she absolutely hated going to the cemetery

"Of course, princess. We'll go buy very nice flowers for papa and you can draw him a nice picture, what do you think?" Meredith suggested

"Yes! papa will be so happy!" Ellis smiled

Meredith smiled back at her daughter before she turned her head away and continued her shower, eventually unable to stop the tears that had now started to run down her cheeks as she thought back about him. She saw him dying, he died right next to her but she couldn't think about that now. She couldn't break down in the same room as her daughter

So she composed herself and stopped the shower once she was finished.

"Let's go to the living room, let's play a bit together." Meredith said. "But first let's get dressed into our warm pajamas."

"Yes!" Ellis giggled and climbed up her mom's lap.

Meredith got pajamas for herself and her daughter and both got changed into them

"Is Dewek gonna live with us now?" She asked her mom

"Just for a bit. Mark and Derek are brothers, so we gotta give him a place to stay, right?"

"Uhu! But he can't take our ice cweam, mommy! And he can't steal my toys!"

"He won't do that, Derek is nice. But I'll make sure to remind him." Meredith promised

"Thank you!" Ellis giggled and ran to the living room where Derek was now chilling on the couch

"Hello!" Derek smiled at the girl

"Hi." Ellis said, a bit shy

"I hope you like your room." Meredith said as she catched up with Ellis

"Yes, thanks a lot for letting me stay." Derek nodded

"No worries, just.. there are some rules." Meredith said. "Most important is just keep the volume down when Ellis is sleeping."

"Of course, I understand completely." Derek nodded

"And maybe a second one, just make sure no shoes or whatever trash is in the way."

"Of course, Meredith." He nodded. He was curious about her but at least he had the decency to not fire his questions at her

"Mommy, and my rules." Ellis tucked at Meredith's arm

"And not stealing our strawberry ice cream or Ellis' toys." Meredith chuckled softly

"I promise, Ellis. I prefer coffee ice cream anyway."

"Yucky!" Ellis scrunched her nose, just like Meredith did

"Well that's good, right princess? Are you eased now?" Meredith chuckled and wheeled up to the spare couch

"Yes!" Ellis giggled and jumped onto the couch, waiting for her mom to transfer

Derek was sort of staring at how Meredith did it. He had so many questions but knew he couldn't just ask her

"Mama! Cuddle time!" Ellis crawled into her mom's arms once she got herself comfortable on the couch

"Cuddle time, and a little quiet, Derek's watching tv." Meredith chuckled at her daughter's enthousiasm

"Oh no, no go ahead." Derek refused. "You can change the channel."

"Mama, we watch Fwozen?" The girl's eyes went wide. "Can we, Dewek?"

"Of course, let me turn it on." He nodded

"Thank you! Thank you!" Ellis giggled

"Thanks." Meredith smiled at him and wrapped her arms tighter around her daughter as they started watching the movie

"I'm back!" Mark announced as they were almost at the end of the movie

Derek got up after he watched the whole movie with Ellis and Meredith and went to his brother

"Hey, how is it going?" Mark asked as he puts the food in the oven to heat up

"I watched a Disney movie." Derek chuckled

"Frozen?" Mark guessed

"Yep, clearly it wasn't her first time." Derek guessed as the girl sang along the whole time

"She loves that movie. When Mer had to order a new wheelchair Ellis wanted her to order a frozen one because she saw the kids had one." Mark laughed

"Has she been paralyzed for a long time?" Derek took this as his que to ask more

"A few years." Mark shook his head, he hates talking about this so quickly switched the subject. "Mom and dad said they expect you to come over soon."

"I saw them yesterday." Derek frowned

"They said you can also stay there, to us it's either." Mark honestly said

"I think I prefer staying here." Derek nodded. "And I missed you."

"I missed you too, I'm glad you're back now." Mark honestly said, pulling his brother in for a hug

"Uncle Markie?" Ellis ran towards them. "A hug?! Without me?!"

"Come here, munchkin." Mark lifted her in his arms and hugged her tight. "Were you gonna ask something?"

"Yes! But don't tell mommy!" Ellis giggled

"Tell me what's up, I won't tell your mom." Mark nodded

"We gonna visit papa! But I needs a looooot of pictures for papa!"

"What pictures, munchkin?" Mark frowned

"Of mama, silly! papa luves mama!" Ellis said

"Hmm.. I think you'll have to ask mommy anyway." Mark sighed, knowing how much Meredith hated to be on pictures. "Or why don't you draw some for papa?"

"Yes! I can?" Ellis' eyes went wide

"Of course you can, little Picasso." Mark chuckled. "I'll help you after dinner so mommy can rest a bit, what do you think?"

"Yes!" Ellis nodded with a huge smile and ran off again

"She's the cutest kid I know." Mark chuckled

"She's a bright kid." Derek nodded, his curiosity only getting bigger
