Meredith was getting ready for her procedure. Today she'd be admitted to the hospital, they would do all kinds of tests and if all would go well tomorrow they'd perform a surgery on her leg as it had been broken after the accident so they had to put screws and plates in it and they now had to come out since it was causing issues

"Did you grab everything you need?" Derek entered her bedroom

"I think so, yes." Meredith nodded, wheeling up to Derek

"You'll do great." He kissed her lips.

"I'm nervous about little El." Meredith admitted

"She will be okay. We'll come visit you and then she'll stay the night with auntie Addie and uncle Mark." Derek tried to calm her down, knowing she hated this so much

"I know.." Meredith whispered, holding onto his hand

"You're so nervous." Derek whispered and started to massage her neck softly

Meredith moaned as it helped a bit with the stress but then her daughter ran inside

"Mama! Mama!" Ellis giggled loudly

"Hey monkey, mama missed you." Meredith chuckled. "It's been 20 minutes since I saw you!"

"Silly mama!" Ellis giggled and hugged her tight.

"Did you grab your toys yet?" Derek asked as she would come with them to the hospital

"Uhu!" Ellis giggled

"I think we'll have to get ready to leave then." Derek placed a soft kiss on Meredith's head

"My pillow!" Meredith gasped as she almost forgot about it

"I'll carry it to the car." Derek picked it up and walked out of the room, he'd put their stuff away

"Come on, princess. Let's go." Meredith said and wheeled themselves over to the hallway where they put on their shoes and jackets

Meredith was glad the metal would finally be out, she visibly saw her left leg more swollen than her right and often having more issues with pressure sores because of it but she hated staying at the hospital because then she was usually stuck in a bed, something she absolutely hated

"Mama, can we have pizza tonight?" Ellis giggled

"I don't know what we're having honey, I don't think I can leave the hospital. Maybe you and Derek gotta go have some." Meredith told her daughter

"You're not comin-?" Ellis frowned

"I'm not sure, baby." Meredith honestly said, hating to see her daughter's disappointment

"Otay.." Ellis muttered, waiting for Derek to return

"Okay, let's get in the car." Derek walked in, noticing Meredith was quiet.

He helped Ellis into her carseat while Meredith got in the car. They had installed a carseat for Ellis in his car so he'e be able to bring her everywhere

"Love you." Derek whispered as he squeezed Meredith's hand as she was staring outside

"Love you too." She whispered back, visibly struggling

"Love you too." Meredith whispered but Derek knew something was up by the voice cracks

"Dewek.." Ellis quietly started

"Yes Ellie?" He looked into the rear mirror

"Can we have pizza tonight?" She asked him

"Of course we can. We can get some at Joe's." He nodded with a big smile

"Then mama can't come.." Ellis muttered

"We can sneak them into the hospital." Derek smiled and glanced over at Meredith

"Can we?" They heard Ellis' excitement grow

"Of course we can, we can't leave mommy with yucky hospital food, maybe she will have to eat her vegetables first." Derek joked

"Mama, you gets jell-o!"

"I'll make sure you get some too." Derek chuckled and drove to the hospital. After the long drive he parked the car and helped the two girls out, together they headed inside to meet with Meredith's surgeon

"Good morning, Meredith." Link smiled as he was waiting for them

"Hi." Meredith forced a soft smile

"We got you a room ready. Can you get changed into a gown, start a catheter and then we'll start the tests, please." Link said as he guided them to her room for the next days

"Of course." Meredith sighed

A few hours later Meredith was waiting in the hospital bed. Derek and Ellis were on the way to get them pizza but Meredith was going insane here

"Hey, do you mind if I enter?" Addison asked, waiting at the door

"Of course not." Meredith shook her head and looked up at her friend. "How are you doing?"

"Tired, I've been working so many hours this past time." Addison took a seat next to Meredith on the bed

"Are you sure that's the only reason?" Meredith winked

"You know?" Addison's eyes widen

"Are you..?" Meredith asked

"Yes.. Mark and I are expecting a baby." Addison smiled, her hand moving to her stomach

"Congratulations." Meredith hugged her best friend. "I'm so happy for the two of you. I hope you don't mind that I know?"

"Of course not, but I think Mark would have wanted to tell you in another way." She giggled. "He's been dreaming so much about our future."

"I'm sure the two of you will be amazing parents, can't wait to meet the little one." Meredith smiled

"I'm almost 3 months along, we still gotta tell everyone.. I'm curious to see Ellis' reaction." Addison smiled widely

"I'm so happy for you!" Meredith smiled and hugged the redhead
