Flashback

Meredith was being transported in the ambulance. She still wasn't allowed to be sitting down but today was Finn's funeral so she just had to be there

Mark climbed with her in the ambulance they had arranged for her. Christopher, Carolyn and Addison would take care of little Ellis and they'd meet at the cemetery

Mark and Meredith were quiet during the ride. He knew his friend was doing bad mentally so he grabbed her hand and softly kissed her forehead

"Finn loves you."

"Yeah.. I just miss him, Mark." Meredith said, feeling numb

"I know." Mark kept holding her hand

She was being wheeled out on the stretcher, it wasn't common to do it like this, also only a few people attending as Meredith had requested to keep it small. Finn didn't have any family left, neither did Meredith

She felt Addison's hand on her shoulder while Mark and Christopher raised the head of the stretcher a bit so she could see what was happening

Meredith scratched her skin a bit as the brace was getting itchy while they started. Mark read some things as he and Finn had gotten closer over the years

"Dear Finn.. I never thought I'd have to do this but we met many years ago. It all started as a romance when I came to see you with Doc but it turned out so much bigger. We had Ellie two years ago which changed us forever. You always promised to take care of us-" She had to stop as tears rolled down her cheeks

The neckbrace made it a lot harder to breathe properly but she composed herself

"It's not fair, you should have been standing next to me while we took Ellie to the playground.. Finn, I will always love you. I know you want us happy, and I promise I'll do everything I can to take care of Ellis. I'll always remind her of her amazing papa.. because that's how she called you. We miss you so much, your death ripped out a piece of my heart, one I don't know if it will ever be filled. But everytime I look at our daughter she reminds me of you. We love you." Meredith said and broke down, sobbing badly

"That was beautiful." Addison whispered, hugging her friend

Meredith nodded and the rest of the funeral was blurry. She suddenly noticed her daughter was in her arms as they were back at the hospital but she stared ahead of her, she rather would have forgotten this day forever

End of flashback

Meredith was sitting at the table in the attendings lounge working on some charts

"Grey? You're still here?" Bailey walked inside

"Hmm.." Meredith nodded, feeling absolutely exhausted

"Go home, you look bad." Bailey said

"Thanks a lot." Meredith rolled her eyes but finished the charts anyway before she went to get changed

She hated getting changed in the hospital, it was usually tight to squeeze in some changing room with her wheelchair

"Hey!" Addison walked inside. "Why aren't you changing in my office?" She offered as she saw Meredith collecting her stuff in her lap

"Would that be okay?" Meredith asked

"I've told you a million times you can get changed there." Addison nodded. "Come with me, I'll open up."

"Thanks Addie." Meredith nodded and got changed into her comfy clothes. "Are you working late?"

"Probably won't be home before midnight." Addison sighed. "Neither will Mark."
