Flashback

"Meredith, you need to be more careful." Bailey said, she worried a lot as Mark had brought Meredith to the hospital after he had found a huge pressure sore on her butt and back

"Easy to say." She groaned, really angry with everyone

"I'll take care of the wound." Mark said, kissing her head softly

As Mark was busy he noticed Meredith was crying but she did everything she could to hide it

"All will be okay." He whispered while finding out the wound was worse than he thought. Bailey looked at him, both now knew she wouldn't be allowed to sit down for a while or even lay on her back. She'd need to be on her stomach and sides for a while

Both of them were very aware that this would break her, she'd need to lay down in bed at all times, meaning no independence would be left and she would not be able to take care of little Ellis

"Can she come home?" Mark asked Bailey after they left the room

"I'd say spend a night here at the hospital and we'll see tomorrow. She'll need an ambulance to take her home, she really can't sit." Bailey said sternly

"She'll hate it so bad." Mark sighed

End of flashback

Meredith finished her PT, she was working insanely hard on her body to keep in shape so she could take good care of her daughter and be a good doctor

She wheeled up to the coffee cart and ordered an iced coffee, she was sweating and tired so she needed some caffeine and to cool down

"Hey beautiful." Derek smiled as he walked up to her

"Hey, I smell." She laughed

"You could never, I only smell lavender." Derek kissed her lips. "Are you done with PT?"

"Yeah, my arms are killing me." She laughed. "But I'm gonna go to the pool with Ellie, I could get some more done."

"Don't overdo, I need you fit." Derek chuckled. "I got a surprise for the two of you."

"What?" Meredith frowned, not liking the idea of being surprised

"I would rather not tell you." He stroke his fingers over her cheek

"But.. I wanna know." She whined

"Fine.. I thought of turning on the Grill tonight and maybe we could go for a walk?" He suggested

"You know I'm not that good at walking, right?" Meredith joked softly

"Oh really? I thought you just preferred sitting." He joined the joke and kissed her

"I'll stay home with Ellie, maybe she's in for a nap." Meredith said softly

"Would be a good idea to take it easy." Derek nodded softly and kissed her lips. "I gotta go but I'd rather stay here and kiss you."

"You should go save some lives." Meredith chuckled as suddenly a guy fell down, some people gasping

"Dr Shepherd!" She wheeled off to the man, she checked and his heart had stopped. She quickly lowered herself on the floor and started doing compressions

Derek checked as the man must have hit his head since he started bleeding out of his ear

"Someone go get help!" Derek yelled as he saw all kinds of people staring

A woman ran inside the hospital and after a while other people ran out with a stretcher and medical equipment

"I got him, we need to defibrillate." Owen was the first to arrive

"Okay." Meredith nodded and quickly shifted to the side

"3. 2. 1. Clear!" Owen announced and shocked, Meredith took over compressions

"Try again." She ordered

"3. 2. 1. Clear!" Owen announced again

"We got him back." Meredith nodded, quickly getting back into her wheelchair

"Shepherd, we need to take him for a CT scan." Owen said

"Go, I'm very sure he has a brain bleed. I'll go scrub in." Derek ordered

"Go, I'm going home." Meredith said softly, pretty exhausted

"You were amazing, I'll call once I can go home." Derek kissed her lips before running off

Meredith smiled as she saw him running off and then wheeled to her car, disinfecting her hands and driving home

Later that day Ellis climbed up Meredith's lap as they were ready to go for a walk

Meredith held Derek's hand and enjoyed as he pulled her forward

"I love holding hands with you." Derek smiled

Meredith flushed as she held tight onto Ellis with her other arm

"We gotta race Dewek!" Ellis giggled

"We will in a bit, first we need to tire him out." Meredith jokes softly as they walked to the playground, Ellis had begged to go so she could play and since the weather was great it was a great idea.
