Mark scooped up Meredith, while Derek lifted Ellis in his arms who was still asleep

"Can you take care of her? I'll take Mer to an examination room." Mark said as Bailey wheeled over a stretcher

"Go to Mark's office-" Meredith said and started to splutter again, she had to cough but just couldn't

"Okay Grey, here we go again." Bailey said and helped her cough

"Hmm.. Stupid body." She groaned

"Stop talking, let's go. I want her on antibiotics and someone listens to her lungs!" Mark ordered

Derek walked off to Mark's office where he put Ellis down in the small bed as Meredith had asked

He made sure to tuck the girl in and felt her fever had continued to drop, he hoped it would just be a bug

But he was getting worried about Meredith. Mark looked quite worried and she looked so pale and sick. He realized he felt very protective over her, even if he barely even knows her

About an hour later Addison hurried inside

"Hey, I just saw Mark." The redhead looked stressed. "But she's doing better. They're trying to cool her down, she's on antibiotics and nebulizing."

"What a relief." Derek pulled her in for a hug. "Are you okay?"

"I'm just scared everytime something's up with Mer." She admitted

Flashback

"Hey Mer." Addison walked into Meredith's hospital room

But no answer

Addison walked up to her friend, damn well knowing she wasn't asleep as Mark had called her to beg if she could come over

"Mer.." Addison's voice cracked, unsure of what she had to do. "Please talk to me."

Meredith opened her mouth the best she could with the brace but stopped again, she just had no idea what to say

"Ellis drew you some pictures." Addison said and took them out of her purse. "She wants to see her mommy.."

"Meredith? Are you ready to sit in your wheelchair?" One of her physical therapists walked inside

Meredith froze completely. She tightened the grip on the picture in her hands

"You got this." Addison squeezed Meredith's hand

"Okay, I'll use the hoist to lift you into the wheelchair." Stan said. "Have you ordered one yet?"

"No." Meredith whispered

"It's really important to order one as soon as possible." He said, noticing Meredith was completely shutting down

"We'll help her tonight." Addison said, tears pooling in her eyes

Stan lifted Meredith in the air and Addison saw her starting to tear up

"It will be okay." Addison said and held her hand

Once Meredith was sitting down she grasped onto the armrests. She couldn't feel if she was actually sitting down or not. She felt her shoulder blades hitting the backrest

"It's okay, you're sitting down. You're doing amazing." Addison said

"It feels as if I'm floating." She said, her face showed how scared she was

"You get used to that feeling. Are you in any pain or discomfort?" Stan asked her

"N-No." Meredith said, grasping onto the armrests still, scared she'd fall over

"I'll leave you sitting here for about 10 minutes, I'll be back soon to help you back in bed." He told her

"Can you stay?" Meredith asked Addison

"Of course, I'm staying the entire day." She promised, rubbing her hand over Meredith's arm

End of flashback

Meanwhile Meredith was being brought to a room. Mark had called his wife asking if she could come over

"I'll go see Mer, can you watch Ellie?" Addison asked Derek

"Of course, please send me a text to keep me updated." He asked

"I will." Addison promised and went to the room Meredith was in. "Hey, you scared us."

"Hmm.. How's El?" Meredith groaned

"Her fever broke, she's sleeping in Mark's office. Derek is making sure she's doing okay." Addison said, stroking her fingers through Meredith's hair

"Sorry.." Meredith groaned, clearly upset and sad

"This isn't your fault, Mer. No one could have expected this, people get sick all the time." Addison tried to assure her

"I told her the same thing." Mark said softly

"Wanna go home." Meredith shivered, clearly struggling to breathe

"Do you need to cough?" Mark asked and Meredith nodded her head

Mark helped her to cough right away, Addison giving them a sad smile, she hated to see her best friend like this. It reminded her of so many horrible things that had happened to Meredith
